Someone is hacking the leaderboards
Since the thread from fuller556 is not getting any attention, I thought I'd mention it here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/363440/discussions/0/481115363872258223/

I want to bring it to the attention of the Capcom developers that there is a leaderboards hacker who is going through and setting an impossible time of 1 second on all of the leaderboards. What I am curious about is if this is something that can be fixed and if the hacker can be banned from posting to the leaderboards? Or do the developers even care about the leaderboards now that the game is out and has been for 2 months? Nothing makes me more angry than someone being blatantly dishonorable like this. Even if it is something "small" such as leaderboard hacking, I can sympathize with people who took them seriously and earned their great times. I don't want this game to turn into an "I told you so" when it comes to this happening.

Hopefully a dev sees this and gives some sort of info or something. If so, thanks, that'd be appreciated.

MM1 has the pause glitch which is way more OP than rapid fire. Thank god though cause I always have a hard time with Yellow Devil lol.
Understandable, LOL. But if you ever want to challenge yourself, he's not that bad once you learn the pattern. Always remember that, unless you're in the air, only the bottom two rows of pieces can hurt you. His pattern is always the same as far as where you need to position yourself and which pieces you need to actually jump over. Once you learn it, you'll be able to dodge him consistently almost every time and won't need the pause trick! :steamhappy:

Yeah it is all about the pattern, even the same blocks move in order, start to finish. I never knew about the pause glitch 'til recently. I owned the total NES collection growing up, it is still a great challenge to this day.

If you look at any of the best time replays in Megaman Legacy Collection you'll find that most of the "best" times are from people using the MM1 pause glitch, rapid fire, and other hacks/exploits. I watched one that was beaten using a clever set of macros. There are so many glitches and bugs in the Megaman series to exploit this has pretty much become a standard if you want a best time. Although people have perverted the leader boards it is pretty cool seeing how people exploited their way to the top.
glitches and bugs are part of the game, speedruns allow them... see half-life speedruns where people use a door to bug themselves to thousands of hp so they can grenade hop/etc, these are legal. using outside things like cheat engine is not, that's where you draw the line. it is okay to exploit bugs to reach top of a speedrun since that is part of the game, that is a generally accepted fact.

Those less than a second complete times are annoying, especially to watch. I understand how speed runs work, I am just super jealous because I lack the skillz, LOL. I've tried mimicking most of the exploits with no success. What's to stop someone from setting up a macro and just tweaking it 'til it performs?

I can't even view my leaderboard score without the application crashing. On one of my best times it didn't even upload to the server.

I am rank 11 on Mecha Dragon and I couldn't be more happier that he dies quickly due to autofire.

Most of their PC game leaderboards end up like this. They never care. Vanilla SF4 had impossible scores on the challenges, RE5 mercs had impossible times, etc. It was so bad someone even named themself '9999 kings' or something in SF4 and proceeded to cheat all the leaderboards. Never banned or even got in trouble afaik.

Yup. In Capcom they don't have someone giving a dime about board hackers.

Doesn't matter, the Yellow Devil is *impossible* to beat in 19 seconds, the current top 5 or something, pause glitch or not.

I don't blame them ever single game with leaderboards has some amount of cheated scores, I stopped paying attention long ago because of that.
