Actually, I think it resembles Mega Man X more than it resembles MN9. It's more like what you would get if you mixed MMX with a rogue-like. Not only that, but there are two playable characters... and the other character plays like Zero.
It's a very good game! I haven't played it in a while, but from what I've seen in the video there's been some significant updates. I should play it again soon.
The game looks nice however.
