Believe it or not, not counting the super arrow, it is one of the better weapons in the game which says more about the quality of the weapons in this game more than anything. It is good for skipping enemies just by sliding through them. You can also use it to bypass those chain balls in diveman's stage........that's pretty much it however.

In Mega maker (fan made megaman maker which is really good) they made it so that you can use it in mid air kinda like an air-dash unless I am mistaken. They also upgraded some of the other weapons like the top spin which now works like a pogo stick.
