If you are stranded in a more traditional sense, with your ship out of fuel, you could respawn, build a cheap shuttle and then make some fuel to get you from A to B.
Or order a fuel drone from the GRIP?
Option "drone": where's that in the GRIP?
Drone can be found under services in the GRIP. Top right if memory serves right.
You should be able to find your own ships on your HUD in the pilot seat at any given time, so long as the beacon is on.
For what it's worth you can always see all your ships on the HUD, no transponder necessary.
