2) Always put a respawn chamber (Molecular Assembler) on all your ships, that way you can hit esc - respawn and get back to your ship if need be.
3) You can always esc - respawn back to your starter station, or to Black Pit to mine for more resources and build a new ship. Include a holotable and you can find your back to your other ship (bring a ship editor and heaps of cargo space and you can salvage your other ship onto your new ship).
Bottom line: You're never ever stuck since you can respawn to Black Pit and mine for resources there. You can also take loan(s) to buy a new ship.
If this is on one of our servers, I can also teleport you back to your ship.
We'll look into ways to make this more clear, and we thank you for your feedback

That way you are completely stopped after a jump.
I used to "bump" stations a lot before i started doing this.
sometimes, rocks hit a station, and the station can drift a bit.
however, the station will always slowly return to its original position.
I would add the tip, to never stop just a few meters short of the 1k (small) teleport range,
because of this.
Also on multiplayer servers in the starter systems, when multiple ships are parked outside,
it is pretty common, that ships will bounce into eachother and push them out of the 1k range, could also be drones and skrill.
If you advance a bit, you can then use the large teleporter with 15km range.
I lost a ship that way as well when i first started, took me a while to recover it.
mainly if im going to be at the station for a while, i generally just store my ship.
It is after all, a free service.
and it does everybody a favor, especially in starter systems
Quite right, Also stops outher players running hacks on the newbies while they park.
Problem is, while you don't consume fuel your batterys won't charge in storage.
It is a good thing for beginners though.
