Just that context matters.. This game keeps getting better with every iteration...
Its early access so the devs have not really stated officially a features list.
But to answer your question. No the player vs world has not changed much. But the game sure has.. It is evolving. New features and placeholders.. The team outreach and feedback with the community is awesome.
A user stated in his opinion that it is worst.. I'm not sure how he Or she concludes that when that area of the game has not been part of the development cycle.
But its not for me to challenge their opinion .. But context matters..
There are no major bad guys yet..just the skrill..
But if you load it up..and start playing again.. You will see some great progress.
And if you return.. You can share your suggestions in how you would make the game better as it evolves ..
Unfortunately they don't understand community Or communication.
Sadly these people run people away from this project at a higher rate than any game related reason... Sadly...
I didn't think it was veiled in any way. This is exactly what I want. I like these kind of building games. But I also like having things I can test my builds against. A reason to build other than the satisfaction of making something nice. And I don't have the time for pvp games. This is the reason that while I own many of these kind of games; I've only played From The Depths for a significant amount of time. Because that game lets you do fun things with your creations. I've been hoping eventually someone will make this kind of game with a fully implemented faction system. Resource wars, diplomacy, etc.
But its not fair to state that the IR devs "want this to be pvp". Its simply not true. They stated countless times that they want to cater for SP and MP. But with the few hands they have theres only so much stuff they can churn out. And yes, content creation is almost painfully slow. *shrugs*
As stated before... The game is a work in progress... All the things you listed are must haves and will really make this game fantastic.
Some times the young bucks try to stifle open thought with rude and semi hostile comments...
I do hope you decide to rejoin the community.
I just don't get the opposition to having options when it comes to this game..
I have typed this next statement before... Its like you some folks want steam locomotives in space...
Load the coal.. Pour in the water... Pump the hand cranks Jimmy Bob... Lets get the old girl a chugging!!!
But then again.. Wen people suggest adding depth to the game.. Then the same people end up decrying suggestions that add some degree of difficulty to the game..
Let me as you directly. Night... If the automation being requested was a server option set by the server owners... Would that be acceptable... That way if you did not want automation and ai and autopilots..
You could find that steampunk space game sever that matched you play style while others find servers that matched theirs would that be acceptable and not garner the seeming disdained you have for suggestions related to automation and Ai?
Are server options a bad thing?
And just why would you need an autopilot? It's not like a trip even across an entire star system will take longer than 5 minutes under the new warp rules.
There is also no mechanical reason for EVA or planetfall, even if the engine allowed it. Those will never happen without rebuilding the entire game from scratch.
Stop thinking about what would be "cool" and more on what things would be both practical and have meaning in the game.
And yes, you can blame a small handful of players as to the reason this game has a relatively small base, not the game itself.
Second Never tell anyone how they should think..
I mean who the ---- do you think you are??? Seriously mate!!
THis is a public forum... read the guidlines by the devs...
They don;t put any limits on their users thoughts or suggestions...
Why should people listen to you??? Get real bro!
They don't even tell us how to think when it comes to giving feedback
about their game... so stow that nonsense now!
Second.. now one is really asking for crew to walk around a user created ship or
station...
But AI and Non player charactors could be part of a dev built station as the model
could be static... so again.. if you don't know what you are talking about please don't
try to convince the community what you know nothing about (Unless you are one of the devs)
As for repeat topics.. until the devs list what they will not be doing as a sticky... new people are going to ask the same topic... since we as players don't know what the end game is...
Know of us can tell users how to think and what to post.
And last... any option added to the game would and could be just that... an option that a server owner can toggle on or off he he or she wants that option on that server...
Maybe instead of ask people why they suggest things... ask yourself why you can't handle suggestions...
This is a community we have different likes and dislikes...
Oh until the devs say what is and whats not practical and have meaning in the game. People will and shall continue to share their creative thinking with the coummunity... and people like you will just have to deal with it... sucks to be you!
Huggs?
The main question to pose is; would this add enough to the game to warrant the effort?
Something else to consider is the devs' vision of the game.
There's been plenty of banter to show what the devs think/want to do, and their evolving vision of the game and how they want things to be.
Simply claiming that there's no information, no stickies on the forums, that we have no clue, just to be able to suggest anything that happens to pop into your mind is quite silly in my view.
No, I'm not attempting to stifle your creativity, but logic dictactes that the devs have been trying to shape the game to their liking, and certainly would add all the "cool stuff" if they thought it relevant or time/effort efficient.
So by all means, suggest away, but it really would make your suggestion a lot more relevant and likely to be listened to if it were reasonable and within the scope of the game.
Thank you for your permission! But my post was not to you... and if you read any of my post all of the things you listed are staples of my post when I make suggestions... So in your zeal to stick it to me you look silly... nothing new there...
