Is flourine really in the game? If it is, what uses the advanced heatsink? I have never used the nuclear reactor but I know it requires heatsinks and I think ACTRs require it as well.

i have no idea what Flourine is but, i can confirm that both the Nuclear reactor and ACTR's both require Heatsinks.

Fluoride is in the game, but it's only obtainable as a special reward for completing the Hurles Co system event chain. ACTRs require heatsinks, that's what the advanced heat sink is for. Using an advanced heat sink in a reactor is a bit of a waste IMO.

Flourine is listed in the encyclopedia as extremely rare and it is a component of the advanced heatsink which is different from heatsinks 1, 2 and 3.

Is the Hurles Co system event chain completable more than once or is the advanced heatsink impervious to damage? Cause without a constant supply of an element needed to build something there is no point to having them in the game.

You can cheat Unobtaneum into the game so why not Flourine? I am still kind of new so there is much to learn. ACTRs use heatsinks 1, 2 and 3 as far as I know. How is an Adanced heatsink different than heatsinks 1, 2 and 3?

Once per system.

or is the advanced heatsink impervious to damage?

No.

You can cheat Unobtaneum into the game so why not Flourine?

You can, however it's called Fluorite, not Fluorine. RT_Fluorite or id# 61.

How is an Adanced heatsink different than heatsinks 1, 2 and 3?

T3 heatsink has 86400 durability.
Advanced heatsink has 316800 durability.

You can view id numbers/names ingame by typing /listresources or /listtools (so you don't have to rely on the wiki).

Thanks for all the info. The advanced certainly has a lot more life than the others.

to add :
you need a strip miner.

as mentioned above, it is the last mission step for Hurles.
it will drect you to a rich rock.
and there will be just that one single rock.
so per system, you get only one rock.
once the mission in that system is done, thats it.

Seems odd for a resource that is required to make something as perishable as a heatsink. However. Early days!

btw,
same mechanic like with advanced ammo and fuel.
then there is also advance missiles.
all rare stuff, all hard to get, and all perishable
