Hosting and Joining?
Could someone lend me a hand in figuring out how the hosting process for a server works? I see the host button but I don't understand how to join my own server, or to helpa friend into it. I see my server on the lists when I trigger it, but I'm perplexed how to join it.

Have you tried the Wiki ?

Look at the Beginners guide and also the tutorials.

What a useless and snarky response. Neither Beginner's Guide nor the tutorials tell you how to setup a non-dedicated server for co-op play.

If you're trying to join the server from the same machine you are hosting it from, use the entry "Local Server" in the server list, or enter 127.0.0.1 manually in the IP box.

Also, for your friends to join, you might have to open port 8905 UDP (or whatever port you entered) manually. This can be done by connecting to the router directly. Unfortunately, I can't give you more advice on how to do this, since every router is different and has different settings. (googling the exact type might do it)

let us know if you have any more problems.

In trying to troubleshoot my connection issues I started with the basics and found I am unable to join to either Local Server nor IP 127.0.0.1. Is there a known issue with connecting locally?
