Nobunaga was one of a warlords in Japan warring state period, he was genius man who almost unite Japan. Unfortunely, he was assasinated by Akechi (one of his general). His fellow general Hideyoshi manage to unite his army and fully unite Japan after Nobunaga dead.

Sengoku Jidai I-IV has some history about Oda Nobunaga.
Thank you for the explanations people. I don't want the game anymore.
Some of you need to do a little research before commenting *cough* first guy *cough*.

He 'almost' united Japan. He was killed by his retainer, Akechi Mitsuhide and one of Oda's vassals, Toyotomi Hideyoshi was the unifier of Japan. He died shortly after and once he died, Tokugawa Ieyasu fought Toyotomi's loyal retainer, Ishida Mitsunari at the battle of Sekigahara where Tokugawa won and formed the Tokugawa Shogunate.

Also towards the first guy, "That guy who united China".
Yeah, everyone knows that guy. If you mean Cao Cao, he didn't unite China at all. It was Sima Zhao, Sima Yi's son. Sima Yi was a strategist of Cao Cao in Cao Cao's later years.

"Short Answer:"; which still enough to answer the question OP had. OP didn't care that much about history; he just wanted to know what this game is about. And the answer is it's a game about uniting Japan. Like that game is about uniting China. I stand by what I said. This isn't history class.

Your answer was sloppy as f*** and I'd rather the person have an actual answer than a half-arsed, misleading one.

Sima Zhao never united China. It was Sima Yan.

Right... Sima Yan grandson of Sima Yi was the unifier. Sima Yan's father, Sima Zhao was the one who destroyed Shu and Wei.
