Companion A.I. This Time?
Are they adding in companion A.I. like baldur's gate had this time? Or at least ANY A.I. for companions. I couldn't even play POE past the first few adventures because after getting a full party it was just to much micro-managment for my taste and no fun.

both options would be nice, I prefer to micro
I hope for companion A.I. too.

Pillars have AI. It's just that if you intend to use Vancian casters(Wizard, Druid, Priest) the rest system will FUBAR them real nice so you can't really use those classes with AI on. Every other class is very nice with AI.

the micro is half the fun :D...

I do like it when they auto attack without commands though.. but haveing the AI take control is really frustrateing, it always does the dumbest things.

(they added AI for POE now BTW)

They added AI in PoE in later patches, and it works GREATLY, you should try it out.

As for Tyranny, since we are controlling a small party, I don't think there will be need for that. Would still be cool, tho, at least for auto-attacking and such.

I have tried the updated AI and no its not what I am looking for from a game like this. If you have never played the Baldur's Gate games then look it up....Thats what I mean by AI.

Its a 4 man party for Tyranny so that much lesser micro compared to PoE. Even without AI it will be manageable imo.

Personally i never used companion AI for any RPGs i play since they never work well at harder difficulties but i do understand some people play the game purely for the storyline.

Dragon Age: Origins had fantastic AI. The tactics system was superb, especially with mods that extended it.

You could tell a mage to cast a specific spell at a foe if they are too close, or cast a different spell if they are frozen, or cast a third spell if they are all huddled up in a group. Or you can tell your fighter to taunt an enemy who is attacking your mage to pull the aggro off of him. Tell your archers to target the enemy mages. The possibilities were endless.

Then sit back and watch it all unfold as the AI does exactly what they are told. Once in a while you had to take control yourself but for the most part if you knew what characters had what abilities and how to use them correctly then you could set up the tactics to take advantage of their strengths very easily.

To be honest I think Obsidian should look into trying to implement a similar system.
