Which Ending Should I Go For (spoilers, I think)?
For my first playthrough of the game, which ending should I go for? I don't really know much about the factions/the game (since I haven't played the game yet), but I know that there are endings for siding with the rebels, siding with the Scarlet Chorus, siding with the Dishonored, striking it out on your own (Anarchist ending), waiting around until Kyros's seal activates and rains death upon everything within a several mile radius, and I think one other ending.

So, which route is the most fun? Which results in the "best" ending? Are the rebels a-holes that I shouldn't sympathize with?

You should pick whichever you fancy, and then play through again, but pick someone else that time.

I don't know about the most "fun", but personally I like the Rebel playthrough.

If you want to experience most of the game however, you should side with either the Chorus or the Disfavored, and when they ask you to choose where to go, do not choose Lethian's Crossing.

This way you can experience all 3 regions ravaged by the Edicts, and you can still visit Lethian's crossing on your own, you'll just miss a storyline and a few optional sidequests.

All endings are good, pick what you like. I prefer the loyalist / Disfavored because I've done the rebel in a lot of other games. My second playthrough was rebel though. They are nice too, I even sympathised with them on my Disfavored playthrough :)

I am playing Disfavored as my first PT, and I like this faction. Just the right amount of likeable and distasteful about it to be emotionally invested. Plus, well, Barik, but I am a female.

I'm siding with the Chorus on my playthrough. It's...interesting. Kind of difficult to stay in the character for me since it's the polar opposite to how I normally play.

Haven't done a chorus playthrough yet. I'm too scared of Nerat and his charming methods :P

I myself am finding anarchy route the most fun (after having done all others already). Bleden Mark 10/10 best Archon would betray everyone else again.

Haven't either, but looking forward to it. Full on chaotic evil and Verse romance (I presume).

I just can't decide if I am going to call my SC character Cocky Bastard or Trash Talk.

My Rebel guy will be a Noble Scion and I am thinking of calling him Konstantinos

I'd suggest to play it by ear, not for some specific outcome (aside from uniting the Tiers under one banner). All endings are as good as you make them - player can determine it*.

The oathbreakers might be considered a-holes as well as heroes. Same for the Chorus and the Legion. It depends on your perception.

On the first PT I went with the Disfavored, then broke the alliance with them and finished the Conquest of the Tiers independently. For the glory of Kyros, of course.

*aside from couple of decisions, where one solution is ultimately preferable. Such as returning the Magebane Helm to the settlement after showing it to Bleden Mark.

At least in Vanilla:
- Full Disfavored path and convince leader to join: Less evil path to stay faithful to Empire.
- Full Rebel path: Betrayer of the empire, less evil path of all.
- Full Chorus path: Most evil path of all, more faithful to Empire that other paths but Disfavored.
- Full Anarchy path: Egoist path, faithful to Empire but less than Disfavored and Chorus.

Now no matter the path, even in Rebel path, there's element that let open the possibility that you are faithful to Empire.

And to help as much than possible Tiers, Rebel path is far ahead, then it's not obvious but perhaps Rebel > Disfavored > Chorus > Anarchy, some choices at strategic prelude could play a role.

Second aspect is to gain favor with companions (but you can also gain wrath) some path will suit much better some companions favor.
