Talents that increase experience for skills?
Are these talents actually useful? I read that you don't want to level up too fast due to scaling enemies. However noticed Barik for example has a talent for increasing experience on onehand ,twohand and athletics for party. Would I essentially be making the game harder by spending a point in it? Thank you.

I've always felt like leveling up helps you since you unlock more useful talents. I suppose it could hurt you if your build is a bit poor. What you should avoid the most is increasing skills that aren't useful to you.

I've always found leveling up to be useful, and I do take the Talents that provide extra XP. In particular, Sirin, Eb, and Lantry all have a talent that helps magic skills.

I'd say magic is especially rewarding for leveling up, as additional Lore lets you create spells that benefit any build or companion composition.

This isn't like, say, TES4 Oblivion, where (apart from mods or careful min-maxing) leveling up is usually detrimental.

As long as your Sigils are in order, leveling should not be an issue.

i think, i read about game mechanics, that there is a pool of xp, being distributed around all skills. so preventing it from going to the wrong places, with the locks on the skills, seems logical. gaining faster can not be bad, if put on the right place. and there is the retrainer, if you feel like something gone wrong.

i dont pay attention, or use those things. im level 16 and 615 enemies into the game, i cant say the combat is getting any harder. normal difficulty. the only "hard and cool" feature i got at around 350 enemies, is that they started to give me wounds out of the blue.

Combat will get harder in New Game+, since your enemies level with you. You'll start to miss alot.

is anyone playing this game for the combat?!
go easy and keep reading. 😁

Well, not combat, but I just have a funny urge to see how far I can level the Fatebinder. Also, on repeated plays, you can be reading the same writing for the 3rd or 4th time (more for Bastard's Wound).

I've had some fun doing different builds(on potd), sticking with them and only using the respec fatebinder to change the stats on my companions once. It was fun, though I did it knowing that going all magic is generally more efficient and powerful. That means ng+ has no appeal to me, though.

Thanks for all the advice. Ive finished the game already and did not find leveling to make the game any harder. In fact when I went to a master trainer and skyrocketed my levels, it became even easier.

Leveling makes the game harder at character level 50+ on normal. You start missing a lot and yes, your party will keep complaining.
