I'd say magic is especially rewarding for leveling up, as additional Lore lets you create spells that benefit any build or companion composition.
This isn't like, say, TES4 Oblivion, where (apart from mods or careful min-maxing) leveling up is usually detrimental.
i dont pay attention, or use those things. im level 16 and 615 enemies into the game, i cant say the combat is getting any harder. normal difficulty. the only "hard and cool" feature i got at around 350 enemies, is that they started to give me wounds out of the blue.
