Multiplayer co-op.
Why is there no multiplayer in Tyranny? Like in Pillars of Eternity there was no Multiplayer. Me and my geek DND friends were looking forward to that the most. But oh~ the disappointment even tho the game was fantastic. I have not doubt that Tyrrany will be as good if not better the PoE.

Comon guys it's 2016 not 1997, you had Multiplayer in the Baldur's gate series, Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights etc, to experince this kind of game with friends is just amazing!
So please, reconsider!

Frankly I'm glad we've still got a studio and games releasing these days that realize that not everyone likes or wants tacked on multiplayer in everything, and subsequently causing no wasted dev time/resources to such a mode that will be untouched by most of us.

Maybe check out Wasteland 3. Them adding co-op was one of the biggest disappointments for me there, sounds like something that you'd appreciate though.

Kinda glad this game won't have any mp or romances. More focus on other things but I am a lone wolf kinda guy and enjoy single player games more.

@DontBlink I would concur. Romances and MP aren't bad things. But MP adds a lot more complexity and overhead to development. And romances are a nice aside, but they don't make up the core of the game. I'd much prefer to have a branching storyline and more reactive game world without romances than a linear story with romances.

There is nothing to say that you can't have both and I'm guessing you never played Baldur's gate or the other classic games just like this that had Multiplayer function and it worked just fine. And if you say that not eveybody wanna play in Multiplayer then just DON'T, because that's to hard for you? I got friends I wanna play these kinds of games with and we have done it for ages. It's just plane lazy not to implement Multiplayer this time around.

I don't think that's the case, I'm sure Obsidian, would have loved to add MP as s feature to the game. Problem is that the team developing this was only around 15 peo Pl e and very limited in budget and time (another project and PoE2 are being made as well, to be released 2017)

Yes you might be right about that more so when it comes to PoE. However, adding MP this time around should be quite easy for them.

How are you coming to that assumption? I imagine it's actually quite difficult. The game would have to be built from the start with multiplayer in mind.

If they wanted to they could implement MP, it's quite simple. As stated before, previous games of this sort had Multuplayer starting 1997. Stop beeing defencive about it, it's no excuse.

Give DragonAge Inquisition a try. Done by the same company behind BG.
Looking forward to the single player focused RPG of Tyranny.

That seems very bad advice to me, Inquisition has little to nothing of the tactical RPG gameplay that he's alluding to.

Divinity original Sin is pretty much the perfect multiplayer RPG. That'd be better. Especially check the second one out.

Making assumptions that the type of audience here, on these boards, who are interested in these type of games haven't played Baldur's Gate before is kind of silly.
I dare say we're all cRPG veterans here.

What I will say however is that amongst all my like-minded friends who grew up with and recall and reminisce about it; literally not a single one puts BG on a pedestal for its 'Multiplayer' mode. It was all great storytelling and single player RPG goodness across the board that we shared stories about. I'd disagree that it 'worked fine' personally the one or two times I actually decided to give it a go also.

Just not at all the type of genre or style of game that lends itself to online play in my opinion. Not in the way that I play my cRPG's anyway.
I can't at all fathom needing to sync up schedules and organize a day and a time to sit down with friends and play for an hour or so, again and again over the weeks and months until either one of you just gives up and stops playing or you do eventually finish. Sounds anything but fun from where I'm sitting, and I'd rather take these type of games at my own pace and without people looking over my shoulder telling me to hurry up or to stop reading that flavor text or to stop reloading a game to see different outcomes etc. etc.

To each their own, this one clearly isn't for you hence why I suggested others like Wasteland 3 or even Divinity. Sounds up your alley and what you are looking for, whereas this sounds like what the rest of us prefer.

Not everything can/will have multiplayer. Divinity: Original sin 2 will be an excellent Multiplayer RPG you can your friends can dive into. However, I appreciate when a study takes the time to solidly craft their games story and mechanics, instead of getting distracted by adding in a multiplayer mode. Plus, many games that are a mainly single player game that get a multiplayer either: The overall game suffers because of the amount of time and resources they had to spill into making it online, or the multiplayer is a half assed second thought that gets tacked on last minute so they can say "yeah, we got a multiplayer".

Multiplayer doesn't belong in this genre of games. Stop being stupid.
