But yes, magic so max out your lore.

And as long as you stay away from PotD you don't need to worry about min maxing so build your Fatebinder however you want to build her.

Just with magic (but not at char gen, as that wastes a talent point you can never get back).

You can get access to unlimited resoecs after Act(1) so don't worry overmuch about messing up your build.

Thanks for the advice FauxPas, much appreciated!

Yeah, magic (and, to a lesser extent, abilities) is as important in this game as afflictions are in PoE. Eventually, you should find yourself using spells and abilities a little more than your basic attacks. And the game is most certainly balanced to account for that, especially on PotD.

And yes, you can gain unlimited respeccs from the start of Act 2, and you may want to avoid picking a magic sigil in character creation, since they're all found very early and easily in Act 1. Except for atrophy, which is kind of hidden, but it's still very easy to get early on because it's right next to the entrance of the map that it's on.

Why wouldn't you just go right into Wasteland 3? Sorry, just curious.

I played w2 at release but my pc broke down and couldn't complete it, I got another pc when W3 came out and bought that and played it first, then I restarted w2 this week, I'm in Santa Fe at the moment progress wise, so getting near the end.
I was going to play Deadfire, but, while looking through similar games I came across Tyranny and liked the idea behind the game, so I'll probably go with that first😀

Ah, okay. Yeah, I heard good things about both 2 and 3. Deadfire is supposed to be pretty good, too, but it supposedly does a lot of things that people don't like. Just like this game. So you may love this and/or Deadfire, and consider them a breath of fresh air, or they may rub you the wrong way. Only way to tell is to learn their systems and try them out.

W2 and 3 are good, W3 is more streamlined combat and inventory, I prefer w2, it's harder but seems deeper and bigger.
I played PoE at release and loved it, so I'm guessing I will like Deadfire. The sea battles are an unknown quantity , but I believe you can have as much or as little of them as you like.
Thanks for the reply!

I finished the game already but what do you mean with that there?

I think my main char had a similar style as the first companion.
I remember her being physically strong and maybe fast/quick on her feet.
I believe I was somewhat mean and got the brutal girl, that beast and the water girl? in my team.

For me it was Deadfire that I disliked. part of it was the first few minutes in which it looked to me as if I wasn't able to properly be the bad guy without everyone hating on me, unlike how I remember it being in PoE .

My memory on that is bad, it started good but I believe around the time I nearly finished the first are (world, island whatever), I got the impression that I won't warm up with the new system.

PoE 1 was okay, but later in the game I only played it to finish it.

Tyranny while I believe could have a better ending if I remember it correctly, got my attention more. Maybe I just liked the lore a bit more or the companions.

Well, I tend to play good guys, so maybe it'll be ok for me in that respect.
PoE does drag a bit, but the loading screens were my worst lasting impression of it, but I have a better PC now, so hopefully that will alleviate the problem as I bought the DLCs at the Halloween sale.
Good to hear that about Tyranny, it seems to have got less publicity that PoE...coulda missed it as I had no PC at the time so there's that, I just heard about it recently and watched a review by ACG and it seemed like something I would like.
