I am not trying to be arguementative... but is there a soruce on this length?
I do recall an interview with the developers that stated the game would only be approximately 5-10 hours to complete. But that different decisions could heighten replayablility.
I'm just over 5 hours into the game (as a reviewer) and I've barely scratched the surface.
From the feel of it so far, I'd assume about 25 hours for people who prefer to breeze through the main storyline and ignoring sidequests and optional areas, of which there are plenty. I prefer to explore and do as much as possible, so I'll try to give an accurate game length later on for people who do all the things.
Oh awesome, that sounds wonderful. I remember when I read the interview with www.rpgamer.com a while back, I was really REALLY disappointed with the dev answers on this game.
The main thing that disappointed me was when he said the game was going to be very short. I would guess they got a lot of negative feedback on that, and decided to bulk it up.
25+ would be great, and will get my interest back.
I see similar trends with others between my playtime and the 'stated average'
Can never take cRPG estimates accurately in my experience.
Guess I'll find out how long it is from my own perspective only after I've played it.
So exactly like I said. 20+ hours. They gave the range of 20-25 hours, and others gave 40+ hours depending on other factors.
GameWatcher: And you’re aiming for a shorter, but more replayable experience than Pillars, correct?
Brian Heins: Yeah, right now we’ve focused a lot on reactivity to player decisions. Each of our areas has lot of different ways that the player can play through it and reactivity to the choices that they’ve made. Pillars was a much longer, epic adventure experience. We’re going for a shorter 20-25 hours of gameplay for a single playthrough of Tyranny, and we’re much more focused on reacting to the player’s choices so that as you come back and make different choices on a different playthrough, you’ll see different quests, different events that take place in the areas, and really see how the world changes based on your decisions.

So 20-25 hours... and hopefully as people stated with side-quests on top of that.
And in one of their streams I remember that they stated the possibility of adding DLCs is on the table with Paradox...so that might really prop up the gameplay time for an individual run assuming they integrate the DLC into main game like they did with White March. I personally enjoyed going back and forth White March and main game content in PoE.
