Main Story 20-25h -> up to 40h+ with side quests -> up to 100h+ if you turn your Completionist Mode On :steamhappy:

Apparently they decided to aim for replayability here, so it'll be shorther than PoE at least...
Shorter than PoE but with triple the options

I am not trying to be arguementative... but is there a soruce on this length?

I do recall an interview with the developers that stated the game would only be approximately 5-10 hours to complete. But that different decisions could heighten replayablility.

I'm just over 5 hours into the game (as a reviewer) and I've barely scratched the surface.

From the feel of it so far, I'd assume about 25 hours for people who prefer to breeze through the main storyline and ignoring sidequests and optional areas, of which there are plenty. I prefer to explore and do as much as possible, so I'll try to give an accurate game length later on for people who do all the things.

Oh awesome, that sounds wonderful. I remember when I read the interview with www.rpgamer.com a while back, I was really REALLY disappointed with the dev answers on this game.

The main thing that disappointed me was when he said the game was going to be very short. I would guess they got a lot of negative feedback on that, and decided to bulk it up.

25+ would be great, and will get my interest back.

Everything I have read on the topic says definitely over 20 hours. The question no one can really answer so far is just how far over 20 hours. It sounds like 30 hours is a safe bet with a decent amount of side quest and without considering replays.

What? That's not true. The devs already stated exactly how long it will be in an interview.

Ummm... exactly what everyone has been saying in the threads. 25 hours without side-quest, 45-50 for a thorough run. Around 200 hours for the completionist.

Pillars took me 120hrs despite officially being labelled as something closer to the ~60hr mark.
I see similar trends with others between my playtime and the 'stated average'

Can never take cRPG estimates accurately in my experience.
Guess I'll find out how long it is from my own perspective only after I've played it.
45 hours of created content is 45 hours of created conetent, but if players want to take things even slower then of course it can be stretched out like any other genre of game in the world.

So exactly like I said. 20+ hours. They gave the range of 20-25 hours, and others gave 40+ hours depending on other factors.

This should help end the arguement here.

GameWatcher: And you’re aiming for a shorter, but more replayable experience than Pillars, correct?

Brian Heins: Yeah, right now we’ve focused a lot on reactivity to player decisions. Each of our areas has lot of different ways that the player can play through it and reactivity to the choices that they’ve made. Pillars was a much longer, epic adventure experience. We’re going for a shorter 20-25 hours of gameplay for a single playthrough of Tyranny, and we’re much more focused on reacting to the player’s choices so that as you come back and make different choices on a different playthrough, you’ll see different quests, different events that take place in the areas, and really see how the world changes based on your decisions.

So 20-25 hours... and hopefully as people stated with side-quests on top of that.

The gameplay time also depends on how fast you read and your willingness to spend time on additional stuff provided to you such as doing side quests, reading lore tidbits, reading item descriptions, experimenting on spell combinations. Also depending on the difficulty and your suicidal urges re-loading can bulk-up the time.

And in one of their streams I remember that they stated the possibility of adding DLCs is on the table with Paradox...so that might really prop up the gameplay time for an individual run assuming they integrate the DLC into main game like they did with White March. I personally enjoyed going back and forth White March and main game content in PoE.
