There are no classes, you just choose which skills you want to use.

The types of magic you can learn include Ice, Lightning, Vigor (heals and buffs), Entropy (debuffs), and I believe also Fire, but I didn't see it in the Day9 stream.

im guessing under kyros the fatebinders have full acess to all the differing training that they would want (no warriors saying your a druid so im not shareing skills with you)

Mind you, while there are no classes like you'd usually expect, you do choose a specific background such as soldier or war mage, so you might start out with a few advantages in either magic or the arts of fightning depending on your choice there...

ok that sounds pretty cool

Is it something about druids that warrant their frequent mention? Seems somewhat ironic considering druids are traditionally one of the least specialised classes that they're often played by people who don't want to pick a class.

lol I just like there roleplay potential, and there nature based magic.

You get a fire based spell after making a particular choice during conquest mode.

But you know, the lands in Tyranny seems seems to be quite... Mordor-ish, so is there really a niche for druids in Tyranny? ^_-

Well, judging by the screenshots & videos... I'd say the world doens't look ENTIRELY barren, but I see little hint of the lush forests of Pillars of Eternity or BG2, so perhaps you shouldn't hope for too much.. :p

All companions have their own Talent Trees(i.e. active/passive abilities):
  • Barik: Sentinel, Punisher
  • Verse: Duelist, Skirmisher
  • Lantry: Sage, Quill, Preservation
  • Eb: Tidal, Gravelight
  • Kills-in-Shadow: Ravager, Titan
  • Sirin: War, Peace, Songs
  • Main Player: Leadership, Defense, Power, Agility, Range, and Magic
You can also acquire abilities in the following additional ways: Spell Creation and Artifacts. Also you can gain abilities through favor/wrath with factions which fall under Reputation Abilities. And you can gain abilities through favor/fear with companions with fall under Combo Abilities.

The only way in which the game is classless is the Skill Progression system, Spells, and Weapons. A mage could use a sword. Or a warrior could use a staff and a spell. Spells have a Lore Skill requirement. I'm not sure on the Weapon requirements though, if it's Skill Level or Attribute based or none at all.

Yeah. It is going to be really awesome :steamhappy: ! They have put more focus into making the abilities/talents of the companions special similar to what you would see in Dragon Age or KOTOR. But at the same time there is flexibility with the Skill system similar to Skyrim, which is also how you level up to then put points into Attributes and Talents. The character progression of this game is going to be much better than POE. Less up front commitment to a play style and instead more flexibility to mold your play style of each character over time.
