I was in it for the story...and what I received in terms of a complete story is appalling. If they had originally planned 5 acts for a full release then deliver 5 acts. They introduce all these new game mechanics in the final act, and a new "currency" you can spend only to just roll the credits immediately after. Pretty obvious they rushed it out the door.
No DLC or sequel confirmed but it is inevitable I think.
I mentioned the same problem in my review and I think Obsidian is going to deal with a bit of a customer relations problem when they charge another $45 to finish this story.
This kind of thinking, I suppose I can sympathize with even though I'm one of the gamers that has plenty of time at my disposal to sink into games. And yet... I kind of wonder what their definition of 'don't have time' they're talking about here. After all, a game like PoE, BG2 or DAO can still be finished in a few week's time even if you only play, say, 1-3 sidequest's worth of time every evening. So I kind of feel like they're saying 'we wanted to create a game you can breeze through in a weekend's time if you devote yourself to it full time as opposed to a game like PoE which needs you to devote a week or even two of your full time to it to complete it'... There's a certain logic in it of course; if we look at PoE, then only a little less than 10% of the people who bought it seems to actually have completted it, which could be seen a a point in favor of making games shorter so as to allow more people to complete it before they become bored with it and/or move on to whatever new and interesting stuff captures their attention next...
And yet, this doesn't exactly bode well for us who want a longer and more fulfiling experience out of the games we buy, but how much do we, those 10% I mentioend before, matter in the long run...?
Pay more attention next time. They clearly stated the game was 20-30h long.
YOU pay more attention. You seem to be having trouble comprehending his point, as simple as it is. The game being 20-30h long isn't the issue. It's how they pace the game and apparently cut two chapters to rush the ending just as your new ablities and resource system were introduced, you use them twice, both mandatory, and then the game ends on an unsatisfying note.
Pay attention? I said the length isn't my problem. My problem is the credits roll on an incompleted story/game. I have no issue with the price or amount of hours.
The game could have been half as long for all I care. I just want to know what happened to Act IV and V. I want to see a completed story.
The game simply does not give enough time or reasons to enjoy stuff at your disposal at Act 3. This game begs for 2 more acts.
"Actually" there is Act 4 and 5

And yes, they are the slides, but they were supposed to be slides leading into actual game play.
