It's 50% on GOG. I'm not an idiot :p
The Game-Mechanics are quite similar. The biggest Difference in my Opionion is, that Pillars has a more old-school class-based Charaktersystem while Tyranny is more like Skyrm, you can be, everything you use. But as far als i can see, its better to spezialise in some Skills and Perk-Trees.
While die NPC can use whatever skill u like, their Perl-Trees are quite thematic and suggests one oder two classes.
Your First Companion for example have 2 Perk-trees, one to make an good archer and one to make her a kood two-weapon figther. Of course you can use magic over an over again, but she has no perks to improve her magical skills amd have only two spell slots.
Pillars is more a classic fantasy RPG like Baldurs Gate - Tyranny is more unique and darker. And you start as important member of the empire of Kyros - but it seems it is your decicion, if you bring the Overlords Will in the World, work for your own benefit oder support the Rebellion. But i am not that far in the game.
I like both games - but i like the unique way, Tyranny goes.
This guy obviously loved the nuke centric mage "gameplay" of the infinity engines. And the constant buffing into a minor god. Gameplay is far superior in PoE and even moreso in Tyranny.
The writing is all up to personal taste, though, and I could agree on some points there.
