Is there a way to set the font size to something like 140%?
I don't think 125% is enough of an increase. I sort of thought Pillars was larger, or maybe my eyes are just getting worse. Is there a way to force a larger font size? My vision isn't superb.

Change your screen resolution

I guess that could work. It's really bad that a person has to deal with worse graphics just to read it. I dunno why they couldn't just make the slider offer larger sizes. 125% is not that much in comparison to % of increases for various screen resolutions.

:(

A game that puts a lot of emphasize on reading text should contain settings for font sizes. Changing screen resolution isn't something people should have to do. If we're playing a game made in 1995 for today's modern computer, then I can understand there may be that need. However, it's a game with heavy reading lore released yesterday.

I had that problem with EVE Online and had not resubscribed to that game because of this one issue.

I'm personally finding it difficult to get into the game for the same reason. I want to love it, and I know if I could read it with ease without straining, I probably would. But this is a big issue. I'm pretty sure the fonts were larger in Pillars. This game requires so much reading to enjoy it. It's a huge part of the game. Like omg hire Kindle UI designer already. Even if I were a developer working on this game, I would have absolutely complained about it. How did the devs and testers not complain about it? :/

Truly, after some further thought about the text scaling issue, I will unfortunately have to remove Tyranny from my wishlist.

From my experience with other game developers, things such as head bobbing and UI/font size scaling are always left in silence. They earned their fill. They don't need to earn more from the same game. They will use what they earned to make other games and/or expansions of the existing game. The font size issue will still be a problem for some of us.

Dear Obsidian, unfortunately, that's good bye. Thanks for the little bit of hype. I guess I'll save towards purchasing Civ 6 instead.

Some videos of civ6 also had super small text sizes... even worse... you might want to also verify that with that game too

i have a way.
dont try this, if you dont know what you are doing. you can break your operating system.
edit the key bellow
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Obsidian Entertainment\Tyranny] "FontScale_h2650123214"=hex(4):00,00,00,00,00,00,f0,3f
the f0 in the code is the font size, you can change it to ff and it becomes big and ugly.
if its too big, go lower by changing to fe, fd, fc, fb, fa, f9, f8... .
for 140%, maybe f7.
the other 00 stuff has a meaning, but i cant figure it out in 5 minutes. probably removes the ugly part

Thanks- this worked for me

I was trying to do the same on Pilars Of Eternity and ended in this thread, while this trick works, everytime I press ESC to bring the menu option, it resets to the default max value of 130%. Do any of guys know how could I prevent it?

you need to edit this, while the game is not running.
other than that, probably there is not an easy way, without hacking it somehow.

Wow thanks for your reply.

Yes I was doing that with the game closed and it lauching it afterwards. Works perfectly.... until I press the ESC key to bring the menu.

there is a software called Borderless Gaming. i think steam has it too.
you can try windowed mode, with lower resolution and scale it to fullscreen, with bg.
maybe the text will be larger, but probably blurrier, with everything else.

That's unfortunate... Guess I'll have to find a solution for the font size not sticking :csgo_despair:

Thanks again!
