Gah. Ah well, can't be helped then, I guess. Wanted to make certain before I pissed off a whole faction where it may not have been necessary to do so though...
edit: I remembe a payment option showing up with raetommon but I didn't pick it since it sounded like a dialogue end at the time. Now it won't show up at all
Does it? I decided to take the agressive option after all - if there's indeed a peaceful solution, maybe in another playthrough - and I did enter combat mode as soon as I arrived at the next map (Sunset Spire). Howecer, combat mode ended as soon as I'd killed all the Bronze Brotherhood there, so...
For me it was simple. I hears the magic word 'toll', and they heard the magic word 'Fireball in the face'.
The wiki says I should be able to promise him I will behave, and thus gain his approval. But either that option simply doesn't exist due to a bug, or it requires reputation with the Bronze Brotherhood to access (in which case, I don't know how to gain any more favor with them than I currently have).
I thought I'd be able to talk to his First-Axe and somehow come to an "agreement" that would allow me to cross, but no, she just has the same dialogue options as normal. So it appears I cannot cross here, at least not at this point in the story, unless I am missing something.
Oh well, I'll leave it for now and come back to it. If I get owned everywhere else, then I guess I'll have my answer.
Later you will get the option of going to either Lenthian or some other place. If you choose to go to Lenthian, then the thugs will let you in, and you will be able to do stuff in town.
It's horrid design, but your game is not bugged out.
Yeah, it's a bad design alright. Though it might not have been the idea, they in essence provided the player with a way to cut the Gordian Knot by making it possible to simply slaughter Raetommon & co in order to get past them and also made it possible to unlock the tower before we're really supposed to... I suppose this'll get reported to them, yes, and they'll probably do soemthign about it, yes... But if it's only bad design and not an actual bug, then they'll probably prioritize fixing actual bugs before fixing this...
