Look at the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ portrait variety, how am I suppose to make a unique character if all the portraits look nothing like my character, hell why even have portraits at this point. This is such a huge turnoff during character creation.

And this is an issue, in every single CRPG they absolutely always add portraits then they don't even go the extra mile and make portraits for every bit of custumizaton, this isn't a issue in old games like baldurs gate FYI I actually hate helments in rpgs.

It just pisses me off, that portrait will follow you for the entire game and be used in dialog and you will never ever be able to change it. The portrait is a key element of the CRPG experience.

More games need to have the option to do a snap of your characters actual face in game during the creator and crew a properly sized portrait on the fly. I think that's how Dragon Age did it if I recall correctly.

You don't have to be an artist to make custom portraits, just go snag a picture that resembles your character off the face of the internet and crop/rescale it to the right dimensions and dump it in the appropriate game folder. If it's that big of an issue to you, you can afford to take 30 mins and do that.
