Tyranny
Anyone remember the Dungeon Siege 3 Game Engine?
I thought that engine was pretty good. Produced good visuals, character models, effects and was built for classic style RPG's like Pillars and this game.

I dont understand why Obsidian would switch over to an outdated and crappy game engine like Unity. Heck. Even with all the improvements in the latest version of Unity... It still performs terrible and eats all your computer's resources.

Imagine Pillars and Tyranny running on an updated version of the DS3 engine... Would have looked graphically generations better and probably performed better than what Unity can do.

i don't know what the engine they used on DS3, but I know that it runs like a crap on my two computers -- besides it's very beautiful, and I liked the waifus on that game.
Unity games works smoothly on my machines (even on my i3 1.8Ghz, integrated graphic card), I don't understand all the hate it has.
DS 3 engine is completly outdated. You really think a small studio with limited resources should attempt to update a antiquated unsupported engine rather then Unity?
Games like this (and most of the rest of the indie stuff on steam) wouldn't even be remotley possible with their team size and resources with out Unity or one of the other state of the art engines available.
I have alot of Unity games and have never had a problem with any of them.
It was called Onyx, and Stick of Truth used it too. Not sure what about Unity that seems outdated to you.
All DS engines that have been used have been utterly bad. This one looks reaaaalllyyy good for once :) :steal:
