Ok, so I really want the silent archive for myself. Why the heck not (I am gathering Core, sigils, accents, etc. Everything I can come accross, I buy or get). I just don't necessarily want to break off from my alliance from the scarlet chorus. Can I get the archive and read it before I give it to them? Has anyone been past this point?

When you get to the scroll, you will have the option to swipe it for another artifact indiana jones style. then you can keep and equip it.

but beware. you will become all-powerful.

Ok.... so I have to swipe it for an artifact. I only have two artifacts. One Bleden Mark gave me and the Horus Staff. Which one should I keep??

Well, asking yourself 'Which of the two is the most useless one to me right now, with my character and my party being the way they are?' is what you usually do in a situation like this...

You could always craft one you don't want to use personally and then use it for the swipe. I used the 2-handed sword you get from Lethian's Crossing Oldwalls. The Archive is definitely worth having, has nice stats and lets you research additional artifacts and items at your library.

Damn. Anyone want to help a brother out with where I can find a few more artifacts (specially ones I will find useless ;). Because right now the Horus staff and the Assasin's Bracelet from Bleden Mark look really useful.

The swapping of artifacts isn't to keep the Silent Archive, it's to not destroy the Burning Library in the process of taking it.

I know you get to keep it on the Scarlet Chorus route (there's definitely a path to keep it, but I believe you always keep it), so don't worry.

So wait a second. I can just take the silent artifact and destroy the library? What happens then? Is there a reason why we would want to maintain the library erect?

As a player of the game you have no good reason to care whether the library is destroyed or not. Within the fiction of the game world though, there's a lot of knowledge that wasn't destroyed by the edict.

Ok.. so I destroyed the library. I have a bad feeling about this. Something to do with the sages, their faction or being able to get the best spell in the game. Most games do this.

if you was the one who cast edict of fire during conquest and gave mages a warning beforehand you will be able to find banner of ardent artifact and sigil what allows you to buff weapons

there is actually no consequence if you destroy library or not, if you looted everything and dont intend to ever return it will be smarter just to destroy it

There are a few items one being an accessory artifact that you can get if you keep the library intact after taking the scroll and a high lvl bane (havok i think they are called).

where is the banner of ardent and sigil? I just destroyed the library and I don't think I found the banner of ardent.

You can save library only if you are not on disfavored path.

Only problem is that in order for me to save the library.. I have to give up an artifact. Don't I?
