Unbalanced... no trainers for dual or bows early, makes 1h stronger
You get trainers for 1h and 2h right from the get go, first spire... but for many skills there are none, nothing for bows or dual for instance until much later... for magic users also, no staff training, no schools of magic training, not even lore for a long while.

Now keep in mind, if you play path of the damned, the hardest part is the start. Once you reach midgame you have the items and the skills to deal with pretty much anything. Meaning for PoD, 1h has an advantage... much easier.

You can easily get 25 to 50 or more levels on it from training compated to anything else. Isn't this a bit too unbalanced?

The ridiculous thing is, first spire, 1h and 2h is available on MULTIPLE TRAINERS... why not simply replace those repeats with other weapons training? Why remove them? Such an easy fix, it feels like a design decision, which i don't understand.

If you train anything but Lore you're doing it wrong.

You have 2 trainers at each camp (Disfavoured & Scarlet Chorus) which are both accessible in the first 10 mins of a new game. I think it's one of the Scarlet Chorus guys that offer bow training as i leveled Verse up there.

What I don't understand is why it even matters? You don't ever need trainers for anything since it's insanely easy to raise all skills on your own. Honestly i agree with munky if you aren't just simply doing it for Lore you are wasting the points big time.

Lore is only important skill. Does everything magic and Magic is OP
DrakenKin Nov 18, 2016 @ 12:28am
I know magic is powerful, i beat the game first run with a mage. Now i am halfway through my second. But i can't keep playing a mage again and again right? Diversity is the spice of life after all...

As for raising skills fast, it's all about efficiency. If i am doing a build, why would some options not be availables for some classes... after all if we have different classes part of the game is enjoying see what everyone has to offer. For this reason the game should be balanced so every class has the same opportunities. Pushing people towards magic or 1h doesn't make sens.

But as it was said, one of the Scarlet Chorus trainers offer bow training, so it's not an issue.

That's a very minor part of the game, early chapter 1. Then you have to conquer spires, and that takes a while.

I got the second spire at Levithian's Crossing right after that. Literally, I just went there right after meeting up with Tunon, unlocked the spire and then you can chose what to build. Are you telling me there are no bow trainers on any of the possible Spire upgrades?
starkmaddness Nov 18, 2016 @ 3:13am
Train dodge / parry until you unlock spire.
DrakenKin Nov 18, 2016 @ 3:21am
Yep that's what i have been doing so far.

The annoying thing is that training is possible with the Disfavored right away, while you only know you have the option at the Scarlet Chorus camp if you ask them their life story.

this scarlet chrous girl offers DW and bows

Ya but then you don't get DW and bows until near the end of the game...

[possible minor spoilers ahead]

The reason is that you need the training camp, it's the only spire upgrade that has DW and bows. But training camp is something you build very last, since the other spires are a lot more important :

- Research, extremely important to get early because it takes a lot of time to research recipes, you usually want to build that first
- Forge, upgrading your weapons is so critical, having this ASAP makes a HUGE difference... it adds damage (which helps go through armor), and it adds also more armor penetration if your weapon has it, even a simple upgrade will make a big difference in dps
- Infirmary, the only place that has lore trainer... even if your main is not a mage, training your mage companions in lore is so powerful

Since other spires are so important, i expect most people build training last and have access to bows and DW until late late late game, almost near beating it.

I think like every skill, we should have "normal" trainers that can take you to level 75 somewhere early, maybe at the first spire or someone at the crossing... then the training camp can have the "master" bow/DW trainers that can train you to 150. This would be a lot more balanced.
