Companion Combat Rating
Rate the companions (preferably with a small explanation why) based on their combat prowess!

Finished the game on POTD without use of consumables (POTD should really be a bit harder :/ )

1. Main Character
He gets ALL the good stuff and then some. Really strong passive tank skill, aoe knockdown with solid duration, Iron light as air is insane, so is giving 2 spellslots to every party member. He also gets to roll all his defense rolls on either dodge or parry with the right talent.

2. KIS
KIS is bonkers! While she does fall off a little bit in the lategame (simply because she already has everything she needs to be completely broken). Her 2H tree in particular is crazy. She hits for over 200 unbuffed non crit in a solid AoE with her T12 skill and gets over 100% damage bonus with minimal investment + recovery reduction based on health. With a health pool of over 500 come lategame and curse ring she is simply ridiculous
Talking about minimal investment.. she power spikes super hard super early (basically as soon as you get her and then doesnt really stop) you can focus entirely on might and Vit with her and max her 2H tree.

3. Eb
Best offensive caster in the game and the only one (not even the MC) who can get flat damage bonus for spells. She also gets a number of strong abilities such as a 20% recovery bonus when not being hit and guaranteed double hit with staffs. That allows her to burn through a large number of spells really fast and then still be effective.
She also gets a number of really strong abilities one of which is a small CC + solid damage against which the opponent does NOT GET A DEFENSE ROLL! crazy stuff right there.

Amazing aoe caster. Real powerhouse.

4. Sirin
The only reason Sirin is below Eb is that she is pretty meh before level 13. After that she gets an automated party wide aoe heal every 30 seconds + another song AND spells AND her song actives. Aria of storms in particular is amazing even though the recovery is quite long. Shes also one of the characters who has the easiest access to additional spell slots.

Some of her other talents can be a bit lacking though.

5.Verse
In an ideal scenario Verse is THE best character in the game. Specifically she gets automated triple attacks after landing the killing blow on an enemy (make sure to equip really slow weapons with armor pen though or you wont be doing much on higher difficulty!) In addition to these triple attacks she gets 45% flat damage bonus (target has dot + 30% weapon) . Flurry of blows does a TON of damage and is easily one of the best abilities in the game. In addition to all of that she can let all her defense rolls check against dodge and gets a humongous amount of +dodge out of talents/stance.

Her major downside is that she doesnt really have any of that before youre really far into the game and if you dont micromange her well so she gets those last hits to sustain her passive shes pretty meh.

6. Lantry
Superstrong early game character who falls off hard compared to everyone else.
Probably the best T12 (or T9 in his case) ability in the game, giving his party 12 seconds of no recovery allowing you to pretty much slaughter the opposition if you time it correctly so the buff comes out right when combat starts. He also gets Greater Renewal which is one of the best active buffs in the game , large duration + 2armor pen + 4 armor for everyone in the party. He also gets a massive single target CC as one of his first talents.

The Quill tree is supersolid overall.

Unfortunately both his other talent trees are below average at best except the aforementioned abilities and his additional spell slot talent is really late in one of those pretty meh talent trees. The same goes for his powerful last tier Talent.

Compared to Eb he is just not a good caster, even his amazing early CC is bested by Ebbs ability to have a 100% guaranteed to hit CC (i.e. hes simply not as reliable) and compared to every other physical dps hes not good at that making him kind of meh overall with some shining moments especially in the early game (as long he doesnt get focused by every mob and their mom)

7. a random NPC helping your Party
at least he doesnt take a party slot!

8.Barik
takes a party slot

has abyssmal talents which are in some cases even anti synergystic

cant be equipped with armor of choice, has a ton of recovery, cant make use of deflect, doesnt have KISs health pool to compensate for his lack of deflect.

only upside is that he can combo with Verse!

1. Lantry. +30 to lore means he can cast spells that wipe out entire groups in one cast later on. You need proper sigils for this though. PC and Eb can get there too, but it's bit harder for them.
2. PC. A lot of flexibility from "multiclassing", but he's inferior to Verse as physical tank/damage dealer and to Lantry/Eb as spellcaster. Probably the only character that can work as a classic tank with the taunt aura. Probably best spec is tank mage (neither needs a lot of talents).
3. Eb. Really good caster, not as strong as Lantry though.
4. Sirin. Good caster + songs. which are essentially free buffs/debuffs/damage.
5. Verse. Best tank and good melee dps.
6. KIS. Good dps but no armour, high health pool is good but not as good as max vit + max deflect you can get for Verse or Sirin.
7. Barrick. Being locked in crappy heavy armour is bad.

What spell combo did you use? dmg sigil+2 accuracy sigil+2? Volley? on which core? or just aoe procs on aoe procs?

Lategame you can do crazy stuff like dmg + twin + chain + aoe distant impact. which basically damages bunched up enemies several times.

Yeah, Lantry. +30 to lore is huge. Really takes the wind out of making a mage yourself.

Only thing going for your main over your minons is being a archer or unarmed.

1. Lantry 250+ lore OP
2. PC Leadership OP
3. Sirin songs OP
4. EB aoe damage/cc OP
others are poo
also you can use the lore rest bonus + the lore helm to equip to other casters then power up their spells and then unequip for some cheesy op damage bonuses.
