No reason to play Expert mode?
It seems to just make the game harder by removing UI elements, and there's no achievement. Why would anyone use it? I just played a whole playthrough with it on and it made no difference other than making me guess where my spells are going.

Some people prefer that experience to the "hand-holding" of the full UI.

I remember I played all of my campaigns in Expert mode. It's true that it's way more helpful to have all the UI help, but I kind of liked not having it there. It's a classic experience, not player-friendly.

I remember a PotD mode and an Iron Man mode, but I don't remember an Expert mode. Been awhile since I booted the game up.

It's inspired by the mode with the same name in Pillars of Eternity.

Yeah, I wrapped up that game. Path of the Damned, Iron man, Expert Mode, Solo. But it was an NG+2 character with over 400 lore, so I was able to stunlock everything with status effects.

Yeah, try that on a first run, see how you do.

As a veteran to CRPGs, I tried. It's probably not possible unless you use exploits. I'm thinking a stealth build could do it because you can run from most fights and attack again.

Oh, no, it's possible. I wouldn't recommend trying it solo, but there's videos showing runthroughs for both.

Well, definitely for non-solo. I think I saw some for solo, too, but I dunno, it's been a while.
