Ironhaul Trail - Route to Lethian's Crossing after prologue - Bronze Brotherhood - What the ♥♥♥♥?
A heap of irrational dialogue that has no bearing upon any quest or plot structure, and my only choice is to kill everyone, but they can oneshot Barik on normal difficulty and kill the rest of my party within eight seconds every time I try to achieve anything. If I absolutely focus everyone with their once-a-day combo abilities I can kill one of the southern group before we're all dead, and that's while avoiding aggroing Welby's group.

Why does Welby imply that she wants help killing the boss to place her as the new leader if the quest for this doesn't eixst?

I'm feeling rather stupid, having enjoyed the free weekend, bought the game and the first DLC, and run straight into a linear roadblock situation belying the promise of the game's advertising.

Why are you even fighting them? You can just get the go ahead to pass through even if you're hated by them.

I went back to the main quest and went up one or two levels, then went back to fight them. That really helped me.

You can talk your way across, unless you side with the Disfavoured. This makes them hate you and you have no choice but to fight (which makes sense, story-wise). This is what happened to me.

So yeah, go away and level for a bit in the main quest and then go back.
