Sigil of Life solo run?
I just don't like the companions so I wanted to try it solo. There are even some guides that are quite helpful, exept that none explains how to get the sigil of life. In all the videos there are characters fighting in vendrian wall solo with healing spells.

But somehow the wiki says you can only learn it from Lantry.

So how is it possible? I just don't get this game. I can't learn the damn sigil of life without Lantry and if I have Lantry in the party I can't dismiss him. Or is it possible to kill the bugger?

You can make characters stay in the towers, but can't get rid of them. As for the sigil of life, it's either that or the moonlight one that can be learned from someone other than a companion, but only very late in the game. And I think the DLC added an extra location where you can find one of them. But as for using it that early without companions, I think your only options are the cheat console or newgame+. Most characters have a way to kill them, instead of recruit them, and Verse and Barik, the exceptions, can be dismissed, but I think they're the only ones.

Anyway, the companions are fun and hilarious and wonderfully damaged-but-still-horrible and complete psychos in one way or another. Why don't you like them?

Yeah, pretty sure Life us Lantry only so the playthroughs probably recruited him just long enough to learn it and then dumped him at the camp/tower.

You can make lantry promise to teach you the life sigil before you defend him. You can then make him teach you the sigil of life after you do that. And then you can tell him you won't let him join you.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

I've found another way to get rid of him - a more bloody way. In the settings there is an option for perma death. Sadly, Lantry got wounded 10 times to some archers at the river crossing and gave his life heroically to the the fatebinder.

Yes, you're right. In some way it's quite fun with their dialogs, I'm definitely going to try it out in a playthrough, but for the first time - for my personal taste and roleplay - I try to identify myself with the fatebinder. Therefor I wouldn't want to have these kind of people around me :steamhappy:

Right! I totally forgot you could do that! And I think PotD or Iron Man or both are automatically permadeath.

Lol, good luck, then. If that's how you want to play it, you're gonna find out some dark ♥♥♥♥ about yourself if you didn't know it already, and while you can always rationalize it by saying that it's just a game or that you'd do things differently IRL or that your choices were limited in artificial ways and you thought of a way to handle things that would have worked but which the game didn't allow you to do, deep down inside, you'll know the truth....:lunar2019grinningpig::lunar2019laughingpig:

Lol, you may even be inclined to think that the Rebels are the good guys, and rationalize away all their evil ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. But they're not the good guys. They're just much weaker bad guys of a different flavor, and in a different game, they could be an evil empire that you're trying to defeat JUST as easily as Kyros' empire could be. :steammocking::lunar2019laughingpig:

Come to think of it, that should have been the tagline for this game. Not "Sometimes, evil wins", but "Are you ready to find out some dark ♥♥♥♥ about yourself?".
