Why no feminine hairstyles for females ?

This game is beautiful,and has everything I want in a game to making decisions, to the great {mind my english} combat,and the graphics are wonderful, but what I do not like about this game is the lack of feminine hairstyles for females.

I am a rapunzel with golden blonde straight hair to my lower ankles,and I may sound biased but when I make a character I would like her to somewhat resemble me ,but she doesn't have to have such an extreme length of hair as mine but have at least some beautiful long hairs.

All I see are mowhawks,shaved hair,and hairstyles that wouldn't be so appealing to a man other than Mad Max. Also this is close to the roman era,and in that era women did wear very long hairs whether they wore it up or dressed it in some pretty style with the length down. Anyone can argue and say this isn't the roman era, but if you are going to use the armour and style from that era than you might as well have the women share the same style from that era. It is pretty close.

If there was just one hairstyle as just a stacked bun without an undercut I would be satisfied {I wear my hair up alot in rl also} or some beautiful long flowing hair to the bum that would be great also.

No I am not a feminist because I want women to be as soft as they can,and be the damsel in distress where her knight will protect her so I am opposite of that. Sure she can fight and make decisions but I would love my character to be beautiful and easy on the eye after the fighting is done.

Are there any mods to achieve beautiful and feminine hairstyles ? She does not have to have hair way down to there just at least some hairstyle that shows she is beautiful and feminine and soft.

Here in Sweden if you are a girl that wants her way or is picky about men you are considered a feminist which I agree that people use the word wrong,and really do not know what it means.

I am feminine,soft,and love to look nice,and I respect traditional strong men {yes they can be handsome heh} for their character and not how much money he has or what he can give me in a material way so I am not like the other girls here in Sweden {yes alot are spoiled,and picky here}

I really want my character a good person that loves nature,loves her gods,{I am a pagan in real life} but will make a great fighter or make good decisions. I like my character similar to a shield maiden. Beautiful,soft but can swing a sword.

Yes alot in this world do not follow the "Golden Rule",and you don't have to associate with those kind,and just go into the forest with your friends,and enjoy nature. I pity the one's that can't be kind and just care about something man made over someone that could of been your best friend.

Lol, first off, NO ONE is beautiful and easy on the eye after the fighting is done. That's not how fighting works, that's how anime works.

But anyway, I've actually heard that the crew cut was invented by the Romans, and for a very important reason. Tactically, it's a VERY bad idea to have long hair in battle, because it can easily be grabbed and used to manipulate a person's head. Having one's hair as close to their head as possible, at the very least, is the best approach. However, I could swear there's hairstyles available to the player that are implied to be longer and done up in a bun or something. And there's also hairstyles not available to the player that are available to NPCs. I don't know if there's a mod to allow the player to use those styles yet, though.

However, that all may be pointless, because one thing you said stood out to me:

You constantly have to choose between the greater and lesser of two or more evils. Sometimes there is no right choice, sometimes the law was specifically designed so that the right choice is illegal (and being a representative of the law, you can't break it, only bend and twist it), sometimes the right choice is so detrimental and prohibitive that you completely screw yourself over by choosing it, and sometimes you simply aren't given the option of doing the right thing. And rarely, VERY rarely, IF you're smart enough, you actually can choose to do the right thing, in which case: whoopie-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-doo, now it's time to move on to the next unwinnable scenario where there is no right choice. And ultimately, it all still serves the interests of the Faceless Evil Overlord you work for, because the writers of this game read "1984" and fully understood the meaning behind the Ingsoc tenant of "War Is Peace".

As for loving her gods, well, at some point, your character will probably have to kill at least one of their "gods", so that's gonna be difficult. You can sort of love nature, I guess, but nature has been almost completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in a lot of the areas you go to in this game.

From the how you describe yourself, this game could very well just make you cry and despair, but then again, that's kind of the goal of this game. To horrify you, to make you see the parallels between it and the real world when they show up, and try to make sure that you can never again ignore or be blind to such things.

I do agree that very long hair is an advantage to your enemy,and can be grabbed but being a girl I don't want to lol understand that because I would never cut my hair for battle :D My norse ancestours had long hair, and especially the women,and they battled with it flowing or braided. Why cut your hair for battle if you enjoy your hair ? Not only will the men see how brave and skilled you are on the battle field, but they will also see how beautiful you are so you need your long hair to swoon them,and feel sexy. There are many ways to wear very long hair for battle,and also if you are fast,and can dodge great no one is going to get at your hair.

As long as you don't get bashed or cut you can look good after a battle lol Yes you might get a scar on your face and full of blood but you will heal,and wash up,and be back to looking good again.

So there are NPC women with beautiful long hair ? At least the devs acknowledged someone to have long hairs.

Yes there is one hairstyle that is a bun,and a wrapped around bun that looks like it would be very lengthy when down, but it's an undercut where I would prefer all one length long hair.

The fact I am Swedish and do not talk as English as you heh you might misunderstand some of the things I say :D I didn't mean my character is going to be good to everyone,and a you might think you are good where someone else thinks you are evil so it's about your perspective. I want to be good to my tribe even though they are lawless but we see ourselves as good people lol

Ragnar seen himself as good as the Saxons seen him as the most evil,and wanted Northman. Everyone thinks they are the good guys :D Even if you are up to no good you are still in a tribe and see yourself as being a good person in that tribe.

Games in general don't usually feature long hair because it is harder to animate, clips through models etc. If a character wears a helmet, an easy implementation is to remove the hair entirely, but with long hair that would look even weirder.

I can name some games that do feature super long hair,and those are Guildwars2,Druidstone, {One beautiful ginger plait to her knees}SIMS,Kenshi {with mods} Northgard,Nifelheim {yes the valkyrie has plaits passed her bum} etc

If these games can have super long hair so can any game,and I think very long hair is not featured on most games is because most people don't like very long hair,and they go with what the majority likes.

How many women wear their hair to their ankles like I do or at least passed their waist ? Very few,and that is sad because I think women should have very long hair to be beautiful,and yes I do sound biased but women should have long hair to be a woman. It's just what makes a woman,and the gods wanted this but the industry that loves making money decided to brain wash about what is good and what is bad. I for sure never listened,and will never cut my hair unless trimming.

Some how I doubt it would make sense to have incredibly long hair option on a character that is going to be in bloody combat. Outside of obvious graphical problems to avoid, it just wouldn't make sense in my mind to why a character would sport such a thing that would make helmets and the like unpractical.. The entire setting in this game screams brutality.

...that this is also a major reason why MANY (not ALL, not saying it's undoable, just saying many) games don't have long or extremely long hair. Unless you sort of cheat it in some way (having the hair not actually be hair, but part of the model, or things like that, for example), it can be a real ♥♥♥♥♥ to deal with graphically, it can require a lot more processing power, it can make that extra computer processing power that is required MUCH more complicated, it can therefore be harder to get it to work on as many different systems as you need to in order to sell it, and a myriad of other problems all of which translate to costs in both time and money. If you want to implement things like long hair and all the intricate physics simulations that go with those things into your game, it's usually best to make damn sure you have the resources you need to get it to work. That's to the best of my understanding, anyway. But this game was more of a passion project than something they were depending on for sales like Pillars was, and it had a troubled production period and release and marketing and everything was just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that mercifully wasn't quite on Mighty No. 9 levels (largely because it didn't have nearly as much fan support), so it wouldn't have made much sense to incorporate that and make it work with all of the other costume option. It's possible that they would have later released all sorts of hairstyles as dlc or something later on, if the game did well, but it didn't, so there's no compelling reason to add it in.

The two characters that first join you group is a woman that is a cold blooded murderer that rarely bathes with lice.. Why don't they wear war paint as makeup ? They are part of a tribe. I am also not just thinking vanity,as I am a very humble girl in RL that loves natural beauty over fake but something that adds beauty to the game. Yes I do wear makeup in my life, but I don't wear massive amounts where I look like a tavern maid. I also did go through the black metal stage wearing corpse paint to festivals lol Makeup can be neat if it's only for traditional reasons. My viking ancestours did wear paint so I think that is great.

It's a shame that men can't enjoy long long hair under Kyros rule :D If you live in a world without long hair to touch and look at than you live in an ugly world.

Kenshi for example featured no long hairs,and a perhaps the longest was mid back but I found mod that featured long long hairstyles,and now my girls have long long hair for swooning the men during their time of survival,and building a society from nothing. {mind my not so perfect english lol}

I always said if you have hair like Sif you are a real woman :D I hope one day long long hair does come back in style,and is featured in everything but the only problem with be that I won't be unique or original.

If you came at it with an approach of "I think having more options would be nice!", rather than this weird "I want my character to literally just be me even though Sweden doesn't exist in this universe" fixation, I'd understand. As it stands?

Short hair does not constitute beautiful woman because short hair is for a man as long hair is for a woman. The only reason you believe this is because you were brainwashed by the hair industry for years. Brainwashing someone with ads and rhetoric will get you to believe short hair is better than long hair.
