1) Tales From the Tiers, I wrestled with buying it too. I dislike games where [what should be] core functionality is sold separately as DLC. I forgave it because of the type of RPG, and because of the game's otherwise low price point. Glad I did; the random encounters are fun, and many of them are quite interesting to me. I consider the game diminished without Tales, and would not play another Tyranny game without Tales DLC. If you buy only one DLC at this time, buy Tales.
2) Bastard's Wound is fun but optional to me. I didn't encounter any bugs belonging to the DLC, but I also didn't get to do everything my first time through. I like this DLC, but I expect I would enjoy the main story just as much if I waited a year to buy Bastard's Wound. If budget is tight, don't stretch things for this DLC; just get it when it's "free" in some later bundle.
Cheers.
Both it creates a more complete game and story. An example would be people saying Tyranny was short. But my first play through was almost 70 hours that included both DLC's so it's not short with the DLC's.
It also allows you to complete the full quest of one character.
I really liked Tyranny and it's world and characters I wish there was a huge expansion in the works.
Have a feeling (and hope) that this is Paradox influence, as it seems kindve out of character for Obsidian..
Game is pretty damn awesome with fantastic characters and writing. It's really worth it. The DLC's make the experience complete. I wouldn't miss out!
