Interloper Beta Bugs

Hello! Thank you to the team for all their hard work. I experienced two main bugs. Firstly in Interloper C and C1 the barrels kept getting pushed around or even off the conveyor belts, in one case it almost sat directly on the jump pad. I included this in an Imgur post I will link. The second bug I experience was a persistent reloading crash in the big elevator part in Interloper D. Everytime I died and tried to reload a save made after the first controller spawned the game would crash and give me an error box I also included in the Imgur post. This completely corrupted both quick and auto saves, even reloading from main menu.

during one of the maps, when i travel through a pipe into a vat full of developing grunts, my game just...crashes. no error messages, nothing, just straight back to desktop. never had this problem before the complete beta was released

First of all, thank you for spending all your time working on this. I thought a remake like this could never happen, but you pulled it off.
Now to the next part: I found a bug. It's with map c4a3c. Near to the middle of the level or near that transition, if you look up, or zoom in on that one upper-shaft area, there's a hole in the air.

Also near the end area to where you fight the final boss, you got that flying creature stuck in a t-pose.

Same here with "no free edicts" while on the elevator going up. Can't load any save.

I dont know the map name, but in the second factory section, large room with 2 tubes. There is a section where you have to use an Acid barrel underwate, right after that you get sucked into a submerged section with an Alien Grunt Cylinder. I just had a CTD as soon as i hit that Alien Cylinder section.

I got No Free Edicts(tm) a couple times too. I think using your own quicksaves is a workaround.

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but since the last beta, and this one, some of the Vort's lines end with really screachy computer sounds, and the songs when fighting those big brain guys later on in the machinery is entirely just really loud and screachy sounds. I assumed it was an intentional choice, like they're trying to pick your brain, but then now in hindsight that seems kinda silly to think that.

"No Free Edicts" crash. I'm not sure if I can even load any save. Hopefully the progress isn't lost.

The controllers still make the unbearably loud and annoying noise, only somehow it's even worse.

Actually, now that I played it a bit more, I just think its the big brain guys that make all those screechy malfunctioning disk drive noises. I turned off the music while fighting them, and they were constantly making screechy noises. Gave me a headache

I got a no freed edicts crash when at the top of the lift and after a few seconds in bm_c4a3d. The quicksave made near that point crashes the game upon load with that error.

Not really related to the new maps, but the last map of the last beta cannot be accessed. You know, the map where we first discover those gluon-refilling crystals. When I try to access them from the previous map it displays this message, pressing OK returns to desktop.

Engine Error
NewPostProcess: Only 1 XogGlobal & 1 XogGlobal_SKYONLY Entity Allowed PerMap

However, I can still access the last half of that map by backtracking from the next map, aka the first map of this beta.

I restarted at the beginning of Interloper for the complete beta and encountered a few things:
  • I kept experiencing some audio glitches, mainly around the Vortigaunt village and later on during the Controller elevator/lift sequence. Kind of random bursts of loud, glitchy noise I didn't experience in the last beta. I think it's related to the voice/creature sounds.
  • In the 2nd map of Interloper (right after the Gargantua chase), the top of the waterfall is missing some water textures in a couple areas, notably near the runoff caves on either side.
  • If I stood in front of the containers (near the pressing mechanism you have to climb), they'd phase right through me instead of push me.
  • Some of the round metal doors (the static aperture ones) seem to have the wrong physics sound when hit; or at least I think they do.
  • My screenshot button is f10, but the game treats it as quit despite nothing in-game being mapped to that button. It might just be a me-thing, but it wasn't like that in the last beta.
  • Like some of the other betas, the long-jump module sound plays when loading a new area.

Other than that, everything new was near-flawless and I had lots of fun!
I've got to say, you guys have nailed this. Even the alternate ending was so many levels above the original (props to your G-man!). 7+ years of waiting well worth it!
