libGLESv2.dll file is infected with the Trojan Win32: Malware-gen
I bought the game at the end of june and everything worked.
I returned to the title again
I couldn't start the game.
I turned on file consistency on steam.
Then I got information from the antivirus that the libGLESv2.dll file is infected with the Trojan Win32: Malware-gen
Has anyone had a similar problem and / or knows the solution to this topic?

Which type of antivirus you have that gave you this error? It's most likely a false positive.

If you can add an exception to the file on your antivirus, do it. Otherwise disable it temporarily while playing the game and it should work. Although some antiviruses can still work even if you disable them. The file in question should be a false positive.

It most likely is a false positive, Valve might be slow on a few things but if there's a game on their app's store that's causing people's information to get stolen they tend to act pretty quickly.

Same Detection but on other games.
Using Avast.

Exactly like ufolos I have been playing Black Mesa with no problems - until today.

I too have AVG telling me about "libGLESv2.dll file is infected with the Trojan Win32: Malware-gen". Can't run the game.

I have a paid version of AVG though.

Before (instead) making exception or disable antivirus you can try this:

Put this file in quarantine, or delete this file.

After this - check the integrity of the game files, from a steam menu (steam will find that one file are missing), and download this file, again (it's official "Steam" download - so, it's a pretty safe). This (usually) can solve the problem.

To be sure - check the new file before start the game.

Had the same issue. I had to mark as false positive and check game file integrity. Game worked after that. Using Avast.
Uploading and scanning a file here will give you a better idea if false pos or not as it scans with many AV.

Hello all,
First of all I wanted to thank you all for the advice.
But today the file downloaded without problems and the antivirus did not detect any problem with it.
A strange situation :)
