Voices Quiet

Anyone else experiencing very quiet voices. As soon as i move about 7 feet away from someone talking it quickly goes from decent to them whispering.

You're not alone there. I've experienced that too. The audio is pretty wonky.

Well atleast im not alone. It seems to affect other things as well. Some sounds are very loud where others are very quiet. Hopefully a patch will fix this soon.

Yep voices are quieter than music and sound effects. Try lowering sound effects and music volume in options.

Also when streaming the audio is crackling and blown out.. Even if I reduce all sounds in game to 45%. And if I adjust audio level in options at the game launch window, the background music instantly stops. :-/

Isn't the Sound volume for both sound effects and voices? I wish there was a Voice only volume control. I rarely ever this hard of time hearing voices in a game.

On my Denon receiver there's a Dialog Level option which helps enhance voices. That seems to help when I turned it on.

It sounds like all sounds are very loud when you are close to them, and then get very quiet what too soon when going away from the source of the sound. Like the sounds are extremely localized, and fall off too quickly as distance to the source is increased. I don't know how else to put it, but it is screwed up.

Yeah, same problem here. Very, very quiet dialogue, but sound effects are almost booming by comparison.

had the same problem, what fixed it for me (kind of) was setting the sound effects volume to 100 and then reducing the master volume until it's comfortable.

Was anybody able to fix this? Even if I set music slider to 0, voice is still too quiet and overwhelmed by sound effects.

Have you tried changing the voice_scale console option? Default is "1", but I think raising it might make speech louder?
