Weapon switch fade
Probably one of the first things I noticed when I started this game up was that the weapon switch selector thingy doesn't fade out after a bit like in the original games. Before when you scrolled your mouse wheel to cycle through weapons if you didn't give any select anything or give any input for a few seconds it would fade out and go back to normal gameplay. This is lacking now, however, and causes some annoyances when you are for example absent-mindedly cycling through weapons but decide to stick with what you have, and continue on. But then run into combat and try to fire, but the weapons UI is still open and instead of shooting you pull out some random weapon that has nothing to do with anything.
It's not the biggest issue, but it'd be a nice QoL improvement to see this fixed to be like the originals. Or at least made a setting.

It wasn't like that in Half-Life 1, only Half-Life 2 (+episodes and mods). I'm wrong on a lot of things, but the jumpscares I got when I was a tad to slow to select a weapon and accidentally fired is definitely something I would remember if it were in Half-Life 1.

Yeah, but only if it comes with a slider to adjust the time until it fades out.
