Breaking Glass with crowbar

I starting playing this game the other day and pretty early on I got stuck because of an issue with glass.

Let me know if it is suppose to be this way but: I was unable to break glass with the crowbar.
I was only able to crack it, the first hit connected but then after that I couldn't break it any further.
however, shooting it with the pistol broke it without issue.
I only learned this because after being completely stuck for 5-10 minutes I gave up and looked up a walkthrough of the area and saw the guy literally break through the exact window I had tried previously.
I went back to the window, hit it with the crowbar.... nothing. I tried every which way for a minute or two then finally tried to shoot it and that worked.

The guy in the video definitely used a crowbar. However, I don't know if they were playing Black Mesa or just HL.

This seems to be the case with every window. I am never able to hit them more than 1 time with the crowbar. The subsequent hits do nothing.
Is it suppose to be this way?

In my gameplay normally crowbar just make one hole in the glass (and some break lines), but when I then try to walk through it, the glass breaks completly, and I can go through it.
Of course there is also some glass that is armored (unbreakable)....

Sometime in 2020, CC replaced the majority of the videogame glass that shatters like you'd expect, with Max Payne glass for reasons unknown (probably 'muh realism'), so as the poster above details, that's what you should expect when hitting/shooting glass in vanilla BM.

Also EVERY SINGLE WALKTHROUGH is outdated. Unless it was made in early 2021 or late 2020, it's outdated.
