64-bit for Macos
Could there be a 64-bit version of the game?

I want to resurface this discussion because of the way modern CPUs steer away from 32-bit (at least on the Mac side of things).

I have a new Mac with Apple silicon CPU. Apple has chosen to not support 32-bit apps anymore, so even though Black Mesa does support MacOS, it does no longer run on modern Macs.

Will there be a macOS version of Black Mesa?
Sadly, no. Linux has been a challenge to support, and MacOS would be even more difficult, especially considering MacOS dropped OpenGL.

Really? First they drop 32 bit support, now OpenGL? Doesn't really make this an attractive target for programming, to be honest.
By the way, on Linux you have Proton/Wine, isn't there an option like this for Mac?

you can run it on ARM with Game Porting Toolkit from Apple. The experience isnt flawless but the game is sort of stable and playable.
