Half Life 2 still holds up well graphically and it's already on the same engine as BM so this seems pointless

Only thing I'd really is workshop support, but they could add that to the original Half Life 2

and maybe they will for its 20th anniversary

O:BM and GD are standalone games unrelated to BM.
