I guess they take it out because it doesn't fit their "vision" of what the game should be or whatever, even though it's an obscure trick that 90% of players would never figure out on their own.
It reminds me of when Valve removed bhopping from HL2, and that was really crappy. I still wish they'd reenable it rather than the backwards bhopping that exists now.
I'll never understand why developers remove fun from their games.
HEY
BE GLAD THAT BHOP MAPS ARE POSSIBLE IN BLACK MESA LATER
backward bunnyhop was fun, it was faster anyways
OH NO I JUST FELL OUT OF THE MAP IN 15 SECONDS WITH IT (on half life 2 i actually did that before)
http://wiki.blackmesasource.com/Deathmatch_FAQ#Is_strafe-jump_.28bunnyhop.29_and_Tau-jump_possible_in_BM:DM.3F
Says it differently:
"Is strafe-jump (bunnyhop) and Tau-jump possible in BM:DM?
No to strafe-jump, yes to Tau-jump."
Of course, the wiki is not updated and this was answered before the idea of having the game on steam...
