Cheats for Single Player?

I've hesitated to post this because I know people are a tad touchy regarding the bots on multiplayer (I had a run-in with one of them as well).

That said, right now I'm just looking for a sort of noclip from Ye Olden Days of games. I just encountered a room full of hanging cargo containers in what is essentially a jumping puzzle - And I'm crashing and burning. Several dozen falls to my doom, this part is a massive brick wall for a 20$ game.

Was just wondering if there was an option for console commands. I remember having had cheated on these games for similar roadblocks, back when I was a mere teen.

Enable console. In it type sv_cheats 1. Then type noclip in the console. You can turn it back off by typing noclip again. This will disable achievements.

The box puzzle was in the original, but without the hazard course I see why people are having trouble with it.You may need to run (shift) then jump (space) and crouch (left ctrl) before landing on the safely on the box.

I actually found this part to be much easier without sprinting.

Sprinting just messes up the collision detection on the boxes, so half the time your jump button doesnt work and you just stumble right over the edge, lol.

Once I realized they were close enough to be reached by normal running and jumping, I havent had any troubles since.

I found this passage much more difficult in the older version. Probably just because I got some practice with puzzle maps in HL2 Deathmatch.

Well I didn't want to make this clip public yet since my internet struggles with the upload of the other ones.
To be honest, I died a few times until I had a satisfying record, but that maybe depend on the setting "automatically crouch-jump while jump" in the BMS tab in the options menu.
I haven't tried it without that, since I didn't like to change any settings while I was recording.

I love those puzzle maps :D
Probably explains why I don't struggle that much with such sections.

I can understand that not all people like such passages. At the beginning of playing puzzle maps, it was also quite frustrating.
It just went better after a bunch of experience was gained...

I was okay with the hanging crates but needed it for the crushers in residue extraction. I think it was bugged actually. Be careful though, I noticed a few bugs after I used the cheat: my gun not firing etc.

You are responding to a 4 year old thread.
Sounds like your game saves were corrupt and / or you had a broken/incompatible mod.
Uninstall all mods, restart your computer, verify the game files and quit using the old saves by restarting the chapter from the New Game menu.

I don't think I even bothered enabling the cheats. I think I just gave up cos I didn't want to fiddle with game files.

Is it possible for modders to DISABLE cheats like noclip, because I'm stuck on a particular map where my sprint speed is the same as my walk speed.
