But I had a similar weird encounter where the Vorts tried to alien-talk Gordon to death.

That stand is often seen in source games.

I remember in CSS when players join a server they start in that stand. So it might be an initialization issue.

As you mentioned, you made a quick load before you've seen this.
I guess that just supports my theory...

This happens to me after I quickload as well. Happened in the same spot too but also in others. Previously dead vorts turn into this.
