Skip intro?
One of the irritants about the Half Life games is the long train ride at the beginning. Usually I save right before the start of the real game so I don't have to waste 10-20 minutes of my time. Is there a way to skip the intro? Seriously, I just want to blow stuff up, not watch a mini-movie about the architecture of Black Mesa.

sv_unlockedchapters 2 if you want to start from Anomalous Materials, sv_unlockedchapters 3 if you want to start from Unforeseen Consequences.

Then when clicking New Game just choose Anomalous Materials instead of Black Mesa Inbound.

I agree that its irritating in the original HL1 game, but with the Black Mesa mod, the train ride is much more enjoyable. All those small details, I just love them, for example that nice LED sign that flashes X and a red down arrow, and once you reach the elevator, the arrow turns green, and all those traffic lights. Just everything is enchanched like 100x.

Another thing I recommend doing, is going to the audio tab inside the settings and turn on "Subtitles only". Then you will get texting for all the talk inside game, and this greatly enhances the experience since you will learn a lot more about the half-life story.

I think you should really dont skip parts of black mesa since every part is greatly enhanced to add to the story, so I think you should ride the train anyways.

Yeah, but if you already know all the story and you are just replaying it for the action, not the story, the whole scene is repetetive and boring.

This is why I urge people to get the brutal half life game version instead, it skips that stupid intro.

or you can just write in the console "maps *" (shows a list of all the game's maps) then write down "map [map name]" (bm_c1a0a is the first non-train ride map i think)

First set launch options and put -console from steam

then type map bm_c1a0a in the console and you're good to go

Sv_cheats 1 then Host_framerate 1, when the ride is done Host_framerate 0 (and Sv_cheats 0 if you want to)

Yes, but the thing is that you are the only schizophrenic here, who actually pays attention to useless details like these.

You revived this 9 year old topic just for name calling?

What does it matter if I answer an hour after the post is made or a century after?
