If you didn't jump on the game during a sale, the sale price resets to the current price at the end of a sale. Now sometimes depending where in the world you live, your region's laws may dictate the price of online goods to increase (sometimes with no warning).

I know during the last year or two, numerous regions in the world had online price increases due to the requirements the laws in those regions had.

If you go to steam database website you can clearly see that game got more expensive in all regions since 19. February , not just European region. Game was 14.99 euros and now it is 19.5 euros. I think we deserve to know why game got suddenly more expensive.

The Steam Database site shows Black Mesa's regular price was $19.99 since 2022. There were just more sales toward the end of last year into early this year. Since Black Mesa is a relatively newer release, it's not going to get a permanent price cut right now. Half-Life: Alyx is in the same boat. Regular price for Alyx is $60, but it has had sales off-and-on.

I'm sure down the line in a decade or so Valve will permanently slash the costs of their newer games, but maybe not to the level like we know Valve's early games are at now.
