Does The Gluon Gun Fire Gluons Or Disrupt Gluons?

The Gluon Gun disrupts gluons. The gluon gun exists in real life, although it's not as small or as good, hell, or even looking similar to the one from Half-Life and Black Mesa, and that gun disrupts the gluons after fire. That's what happens.

The gun itself may also be a bit of misnomer, as only organic matter is affected by it.
So perhaps the neutrongun might be be more fitting to what it does, where it shoot a harmful dose of neutron radiation.

Or any other particle that only really affects organic matter.

Not sure how firing gluons would do anything, but gluons in general are a mystery because their whole point is that they can't be separated from quarks by means that do not involve extremely high energies, making them impossible to mass produce. And if they are separated from baryons, they do not last for very long, as they decay into a quark-antiquark pair. Thus, the only conclusion is that they turn the target into quark gluon plasma. It's possible that valve didn't hire a team of particle physicists to make their game as accurate as possible, though, so...

Mine fires by just walking forwards, atleast in large sections of the last parts of the game...
