Purple Hat/Xen

I got the achievement for sending the purple hat to Xen but i've seen pictures of people taking it further like to the end of the game. Is there any reason to actually do this? also if there is where do i find the hat again? as i took it through the portal to xen got the achievement but the hat isnt around where i loaded in.

It's on a ledge with a dead survey guy right before the level transition from the first Xen level to the second, past the two houndeyes and the first armor restoring crystal formation. Once you jump out there, a billion headcrabs pop up.

Yes, there's a secret meme ending where the gman will wear the hat if you get it all the way through the game, and it got upgraded to an achievement not too long ago.

Must be a hidden achievement then. do i need the hat AND the pizza together?? or can i do just the hat to Gman then the pizza in a seperate run?

Be careful and save often my guy, taking it through Xen is way more difficult than through Black Mesa. Be ready for lots of low gravity jumping and the occasional crash! best of luck friend :) Its worth it for the end game.

I save way more in games than i should anyway :p but yeah i was thinking how hard xen would be :p ladders and the teleporter section at the reactor in the lamba labs was bad enough :p

i've hit a roadblock i got the hat to the part where you need go to 3 different areas moving plugs about to power up the control room to make the teleporter to teleport you to i believe gonarch lair and i pulled the 1st plug out to get rid of a force field and jump down the hole but the hat literally cant go down the hole so i cant progress? wish i could add pictures to show the part i mean.
