Go to Library, rightclick on Black Mesa and go to properties, local files and click on "Verify game cache". After it's done, start a NEW GAME and select the Surface Tension chapter. Tell me if it doesn't work.
It works!! But sadly that the old saved files won't work anymore so I have to restart the chapter again T-T
Just realize there is new update. Look like replaying the chapter is my only option now T-T
Strangely, it seems that I get this glitch only in my desktop PC. The old saved files work fine when I play the game in my Notebook.
Anyway, thank you two for the solution :D
We're solving this in the next update by giving you a menu notice if your save game file is out of date and the chapter needs to be restarted. It's a tad draconian, but it should solve this issue and alleviate any further confusion.
UPDATE: I deleted my saves, validated the files again and it said 4 were missing. After that I validated again just to be sure, no problems this time. I started a new game from Apprehension and the 3 vortiguants before the freezer room were okay. However after going through the freezer and some vents the next 3-5 vortiguants were, again, just standing where they were, attacked a few times and that's it. They won't come after me, they won't even face me, I can just walk past them.
The game is unenjoyable at this state. My I ask what are You, the Developers work on at the moment? Is the game supported or you just dropped it completely?
Black Mesa is an Early Access Game, you should expect to have a few bugs and glitches.
The developers are actively working on the game and support the community.
We're working on a large scale AI update to alleviate some of these issues, a beautiful new graphical feature which will significantly improve the quality of outdoor sections, and a major SP update with some awesome new content (3 new SP maps packed full of content!), all of which is due to be released fairly soon. Oh and we're also working on Xen. No need to be so adversarial!
The AI bugging out has several sources which are difficult to replicate and understand. We've already squashed a large bug which was causing this odd Vort behaviour, but there are multiple causes. Over time we hope to iron it all out. Such is the nature of early access.
