Gordon Freeman vs Adrian Shepard

a Scientist who destroyed Nihilanth and the Combine by himself, and also a hope figure to everyone (Resistance) vs a Marine with training who fought against Race X aliens.

Gordon Freeman, for sure.

Think about it: Gordon probably didn't know how to even use half the guns he had. He was stuck in an uncomfortable glorified hazmat suit for nearly two whole days (in Half-Life 2 he wears the Mark 5 suit for nearly a week), which constantly pumps morphine and whatever is in the medkits into his body.

He watched the only people he knew at the time die or be left stranded, which probably gives him PTSD. He killed soldiers who were probably just doing their job (like Adrian) He was constantly being shot, zapped, drowned, bitten, scratched, and teleported. And in the entirety of the Half-Life series, he hasn't eaten once.

Well let's see I say shepard, why you may ask? well 1. He destroyed the black ops 2. Saved more soilders, security guards, and scientists than Gordon. 3. Slowed the destruction of black mesa (allowing more time for everyone to evacuate). I think Shepard should be awarded heroism for his act's during the crisis. Shepard was told to pull out but couldn't, He had to use his wits to survive. Even as he was trying to escape he helped anyone along his way (excluding the black ops) Without shepard more people would have died both from black ops and the bomb. And HAD shepard pulled out when he was supposed to more people would have died. But Gordon's goal was to get to xen and kill an emporer of the universe. As for Shepard well he had no choice he had to help in order to escape, and after the oder to pull out the soilder's main objective was to escape, Shoot to kill was to longer what they needed to do. I mean Gordon did well but why just praise him why not Shepard? He did his best to both help and survive without him (again) more would have died. So that is why I say Shepard is the main hero.

I'm sure Adrian Shepard didn't destroy Black Ops by himself. he had allies. along with other aliens also fighting the Black Ops. and Adrian didn't actually help everyone. theres no even part where he actually rescues the scientists and guards. and he can't even save his own squad. they kept on dying

as for Gordon. he killed Nihilanth to stop the invasion. but Race X came. Gordon can't do anything when he was put into stasis. the "Marines" and the "Black Ops" were in charged now. not just Adrian.

Gordon is also a glimpse of hope to everyone since he struck Nova Prospekt to rescue ONE PERSON. and after that he INSPIRED EVERYONE TO FIGHT. that saved "Humanity"

Gordon also at Episode One. he "EVACUATED" people. out of the city. he went inside along with Alyx inside a F(UCKING CORE JUST TO SAVE TIME. THATS JUST RISK TAKING

well for Adrian he's with the marines they are a "ARMY" but still what did they do? kill half of civilians on Black Mesa. and no Adrian Shepard didn't save time. he just saved himself.

without Gordon. the invasion continues, and the combine successfully controlled the earth without hope

Well I'm not trying to stir A war but I do disagree and agree I just feel that adrian was not some Half-assed fool that only gave a ♥♥♥♥ for him self. In the game Shepard's main objective WAS to kill Everyone there and assassinate freeman, BUT He was then ordered to pull out. Shepard was also saved by a scientist with out the scientist he would have died, I think when shepard was saved he Didn't feel the urge to kill anyone (exculding the black ops) But when He was not able to escape he continued on, But instead of going into a rage, killing everyone in sight 'Cause he missed the Osprey He helped (not only the soilders) but security guards scientists, Hell Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥' luck half of the workers there survived. (now fowarding to the half-life 2 time line) Let's say gordon never was taken out of statis, the combine might remain calm and not continue with what ever they where up to. Yes Earth might have come to rack and ruin but maybe at a slower pace, let's say shepard was returned to earth and not freeman. Shepard might have been able to take on the combine with the rebels, alyx, and maybe some of g-man's random coincdences. Shepard has more army knowledge on army tactics than gordon, even though gordon was a scientist he only had help from g-man, alyx, and the rebles) and no co-op from the adminitrators of the citidales. Who know's maybe if gordon lived like everyone else in city-17 havok may never had happened and hunderds of thousands possibaly saved. I find that shepard's 4-5 days at black mesa may have taught him somthing. Somthing we don't know, but somthing. (back to the bomb topic) I Do think that shepard save more poeple when he turned off the bomb (so what IF G-man re armed it he was only trying to help) I'd say otis and the guard at the office, the 2 soilder's at the canal, the 5 soilders from the dam, the scientists at the hospital, the 1 scientist from the lamda sector, the 4 soilders at the transit stop, the guard and scientist and sector E, the 2 scientists from the office complex, and may other's would have been saved from shepard's choice to disarm the bomb. Also Gordon had help taking on the combine. Gordon is not this solo super man type the could go 1v60,000 with out help from the rebels and alyx It take quite a lot to go against an army with about 20 others: It take's planning, replanning, trial, error, death, drama, creativity, and skill. That is what makes the endevours of gordon and shepard so intense.
