From the developers:
The .exe in itself is only used when you are creating new closed captions for the game, so the game should function just fine without it.
So, if you are not working on closed captions, just ignore the missing .exes and play the game.
Go to another anti-virus
Exactly.
Computers and IT security is my profession. To recommend that someone not use anything other than malwarebytes (free or paid, or do you even know the difference) is criminal.
And the advice to pay attention to "any installers" as your recommended 2nd line of defense is woefully ignorant.
I can backup what I know with sources and facts. Can you?

We are free to not use any antivirus programs, dude. Don't call us "criminal" if we recommend to not use any of theses to our friends. If we take care of our PC and what we are downloading, everything is OK, and we won't need any of theses antivirus softwares. I did exactly as "Dest" said for 10 years, and I never get any problems. Clean up your PC every 2 weeks, and it's okay.
And insulting us of "ignorant" because we pay attention to what we are downloading is ridiculous and immature.
Who the hell do you think you are?
Let me repeat what you said before :

Just turn off Norton when you play on Black Mesa, the author. This game doesn't have any malware.
If you were paying any attention you would know that the game does not need the files that Norton and other av programs false positive on. So you don't need to turn off the av program, what is it with you and BAD Advice. Please stop.
Carry on, but stop spreading misinformation.
And remember kiddos

I won't answer to your immature reply, boy. Do yourself a favor and take a drink. You need to chill out. And stop off-topic please. Thank you.
