This forum is the place to come and ask for help. Most likely you will have a developer of the game work with you, and you can't ask for more than that.
If you installed anything additional like SDKs you were headed down the wrong rabbit hole.

When asking for help please include the operating system and system specs.
Also include in detail what you have done to try and fix the issue.

You don't need Source sdks to run Black mesa retail.

you should provide any error messages you're receiving, otherwise this just looks like a troll post.

That's the thing, I'm not getting any error message.. the game just doesn't start! I got the messsage "Game is preparing to launch.." and the mouse icon shows that the system is busy... but then, after 2 or 3 seconds the message goes off, and after that nothing happens.
STEAM displays the message "running" on my Library tab, and the Task Manager shows BMS.exe (32 bits) running too, but nothing happens at all.

I got Windows 10 Pro 64 bits updated, running on I7 6700, 16 GB Ram, R2 280x.

I tried this http://steamcommunity.com/app/362890/discussions/0/365172547943756063/, but nothing.

And I tried dl SDK 2007 and 2013 (just for trying, u know).

Thx for all ur replies.

Have you tried restarting your computer?

The only thing I can think of is that it might be a redistributable or a DirectX related issue. This can happen sometimes on Windows 10. Try downloading and installing these redistributables, see if any of these help:

DX9[www.microsoft.com]
VC 2013[www.microsoft.com]
VC 2010[www.microsoft.com]

It also might be fullscreen related, we've had that reported sometimes too. Try opening the launch options, and setting the following switches:

-windowed -noborder

This can sometimes fix issues with the game launching but then seemingly not doing anything.

actually, I re-dl the game, to try the things u sent me, but be4 all that I clicked play and the game magically worked this time! =D

I don't know what it was. I did not installed anything, I just dl and clicked play once finished, just like I did the first time I dl it.

... go figure...

anyway, thx to ur replies. Now I'm experiencing this awesome game! Ohhh man, the memories!!!!
I just passed Gordon's hellish experiment. Great job so far!

Lol. How come? Did u just deleted and re-downloaded the game, and the game worked for u 2?

Cos if that was what happened I was thinking, maybe, this fix could be pinned, for others having this same issue.

The game worked well before I upgraded to Windows 10.

Explain in detail what you have done to troubleshoot this problem and please post your system specs, or don't.

Restart your computer and Do What the dev posted above plus update the graphics drivers.
