How to use an Xbox controller

I bought the game long time ago and i could not use the controller. Someone said you have to go to Big Picture mode or something to use the controller. i cant remember exactly, but anyone knows how to set the controller or how to use it?

Funny, I'm looking for a way to disable gamepad mode because it messes with how the weapon hot bar works. The gamepad mode is permanently set on even when no controller is plugged in.

i did it. I just launched game old menu by inputting it through properties :)

You could try the following:

hit the ~ key and type joystick 1. Then for weapon switch purposes type hud_fastswitch 2

The tilde key opens the game's developer console menu, but first, you have to enable it within the game's options.

You can enable keyboard-friendly UI mode by typing in: hud_fastswitch 0
If you prefer to switch directly between weapons, then use 1 instead of 0.
