BMCE is a nightmare to install, and not something you should ever recommend to new players unless you're willing to be tech support for them.
I'd go with Vanilla first then after finishing the game. I'll go again but with mods.
Go vanilla first with anything (unless the game literally won't run without them) the first time.
Then add a couple here and there, try a few missions, and see if there are more mods you'd like. Maybe add some more, before going totally crazy with it.
Tho my only comparisons are Skyrim and FONV for hella modding, I'm not sure how many mods there are for this game yet. Will def look into it all once I finish my Virgin Vanilla run
